Find the sentences in Passive in newspaper article. The Tunguska explosion At 7:17 a.m. on the morning of June 30,1908, there was a mysterious explosion in the skies over Siberia. One theory is that it was caused by the impact of a large meteorite, about 6 km above the earth. Because the object exploded up in the atmosphere, instead of hitting the ground, it left no crater. The effect on the ground was limited to the devastation of a large forest. At the centre of the impact tree branches were stripped, leaving trunks standing up. But at distances from 5 to 15 km, the trees were blown over, lying with tops pointed away from the blast.  No one was close to the blast. The closest humans were probably people camping in tents roughly 30 km from the explosion. In 1945 a new theory about Tunguska was suggested. Aleksander Kazantsev was one of the first Russian scientists to evaluate the atomic bomb explosion at Hiroshima, Japan. He was also intrigued by the mystery of the Tunguska blast and quickly found connections between the two. The strange forest of trees, stripped of branches, but still standing, was found at Hiroshima too. The American atomic bomb had exploded at high altitude and the downward rushing shock wave had left the trees directly beneath standing, while flattening trees and houses further out in a radiating pattern. Kazantsev was the first to suggest that the event was caused by the explosion of an atomic-powered spaceship. While most scientists laughed at this explanation, some took his suggestion seriously and they began to notice other similarities. This included apparent effects from radiation. Both the reindeer population at Tunguska and the human population at Hiroshima developed similar skin diseases. There was also evidence of accelerated plant growth at both locations.

Read the text and then do some exercise The Internet The Internet was invented in the late 1960s by the US Defense Department's Advanced Research Projects Agency. In 1969, there was a network of just four mainframe computers. A mainframe computer is a large, powerful computer, shared by many users. The idea of the electronic mailbox was born when users looked for a way to talk to each other electronically. By 1984,the Internet had begun to develop into the form we know today. Electronic mail is much faster than traditional mail, because once the message is typed out; it arrives in the electronic mail box of the recipient within minutes. It's better to use e-mail to contact friends rather than phone them, because e-mail is cheaper for long distances than the phone. People can share their interests through the Internet and it makes it very easy to exchange ideas and information. The fax machine is a very convenient aid to contact companies and friends because messages are transmitted immediately. Fax machines work like photocopiers. They make a copy of a document and then send it down a telephone line to another fax machine. In this  way they can send and receive information from each other. You can send any kind of things by fax, but it is more expensive than e-mail.

Тема урока: “Mass media. Passive voice.”

Цель урока: формирование практических умений и навыков иноязычной речевой деятельности учащихся (в чтении, аудировании, говорении, письме).

Задачи:

1. Образовательные:

- актуализировать грамматические навыки употребления Passive voice на знакомом языковом материале;

- учить правильно употреблять языковые средства, строить фразы, повышать общую культуру выражения мысли.

2. Развивающие:

- развивать мышление, память, логику, воображение;

- развивать самостоятельность;

- развивать кругозор в области изучаемого языка;

- развивать творческие способности обучающихся;

3. Воспитательные:

- формировать мотивацию к изучению иностранного языка;

- воспитание культуры общения;

- ориентирование в потоке информации в современном мире.

Ход урока

Вводная часть: ( приветствие, сообщение темы урока, речевая зарядка)

Т: Good morning, students! I’m glad to see you. The topic of our lesson is “Mass media. Passive voice.” Last lesson we started it. As you know, the mass media play important part in our lives. And what means of communication, which traditionally called mass media, do you know?

S.1: I know such means of communication: newspaper, television, the Internet.

S.2: There are other means of communication: books, radio, magazines.

T: You are right. And which of mass media is your favorite?

S.3: My favorite media is television. I can watch TV for many hours a day.

S.4: My favorite media is the Internet. I like to surf the Internet and play games.

T: What information do you prefer to get from media?

S.5: I like to watch TV program about animals, nature.

S.6: I like sport and prefer to watch sport channel.

S.7: I like to read about celebrities, fashion.

T: Now feel the table. Use the information you know about mass media and the words:

T: Thank you for your opinions. It is very interesting for me. Last lesson we have known the new grammar-Passive voice. Today we continue to work on it. Please tell me the rule. (слайд 2)
