Слайд 1: Welcome to Zarechny – Our
Native Land.
Слайд 2: Zarechny is a typical
Russian village. It is neither large nor small. It stands at the bank of the
great Russian river Volga. Wonderful nature and interesting history of our
country attracts citizens from different places of Russia.
Слайд 3: We would like to tell you about
our school historical museum. We are proud of our school because it was one of
the winners in 2006. Our school is famous for the museum. There are many
interesting things to see and to learn. The museum was organized by the teacher
of History-G.G. Turkina and our historical society “the Sparks of Memory” in
2009. Many objects which we see here were brought by our schoolchildren; some
of them were presents from country people. Here you can see some mobile
exhibitions and students’ research works. Our museum is divided into three
parts.
Слайд 4: The first exhibition is called
“From the History of the Textile Factory”. The settlement of Zarechny is dated
to 1905 when the rich man A.V. Konstantinov founded the textile factory on the
left side of the Volga. The factory began to work in 1907 and is working now.
It is produced fabric, linen and clothes. Around the settlement there were many
small villages, some of them were disappeared.
Слайд 5: During the great soviet
reconstructions on the river Volga the whole village of Zyablovo (1903) was
drown in 1950s. Twenty houses were underwatered so people had to move in
Zarechny. They could remove some houses and built the new street named
Shirockaya which made our village bigger. We were at the place of Zyablovo and
made some photos how it looks like now. There are students’ works, documents
and photos in the album.
Слайд 6: The second exhibition is called “Zarechy during
the Great Patriotic War”. There are photos, letters, documents of people lived
and still living who took part in the war. Our society takes care of our
veterans and helps them.
Слайд 7: Here you can learn many
interesting facts about one of the oldest school in our Zavolzhsky District –
Cheganovo school, about the foundation of the oldest school and its working in
the war, the first pupils and the teachers, to see their textbooks and
copybooks. Many of our grandparents learned there.
Слайд 8: The most valuable place in our museum is “the Corner
of People’s Lifestyle in 19-20 centuries“. There are the old things of Russian
countryside life from the end of the 19 centuries to the beginning of the 20 th
centuries. It is the model of Russian house.
Слайд 9: In the center of the house you can see a white
fireplace, one of the symbols of Russia. At the fireplace there are some
tools-“ukhvat”. It is the special tool to help the housewife put bowls into the
fireplace. “Ukhvats” were different sizes and shapes. They were used only by the
women. You can take it and try to put a pot into the fireplace. The Russian
name of these pots is “chugun”.
Слайд 10: The coal iron is also connected with the
fireplace. Our iron is one of the oldest items in our collection. The coal from
the fireplace was used in boiling water in samovar.
Слайд 11: Look at “Samovars”- one was presented by the
family of Zakharovs, the second –by the school teacher, Olga Ryabova. Samovar
is also the symbol of Russian life. You can see it in the middle of the table.
Samovar stands on the special tablemat. It is the Russian old table manner. In
our museum you can boil the water in a samovar in “a peasant way”.
Слайд 12: There are many different dishes in our
collection. “Krynka”, ‘”miska”, “Cherepushki” were made of clay and wood. Two
of them are very old and valuable.
Слайд 13-14: Russian people couldn’t imagine their life
without different things of wood. Weaving from birch bark was a unique
handicraft. Skilled workmen made shoes- “lapti”, baskets-“koroba”, “kosheli”,
toys and even musical instruments-“herd rozhok”. You can see them in our
“house”. Skilled women embroidered beautiful napkins, table-clothes and towels
and they decorated their houses. We have “pryaltsi” and you can try to work.
You can touch, do, make and try everything in our museum.
Слайд 14: This book “the Lives of Saints”
is very old. It was published in 1869. Some museums from Kineshma wanted to
have this book in their exhibitions. They think the book has a great value for
history.
Слайд 15: Our museum has a corner of
memory. It was made in honor to the soviet soldier, Alexey Karpychev. He was
lost during the international war against Afghanistan. You can see his photos,
his letters to his parents from the war, his military uniform, his parent’s
house where he spent his childhood. You can read the document from the army
about the rewarding him a medal posthumous.
Слайд 16: The work of our society and
our museum are highly appreciated. You can read the information about our
museum in W of Ivanovo Region.
