Урок-телемост «Elista –Итон» в 7 классе

Цели урока:

Образовательные:

1) отработать навыки диалогической и монологической речи по теме «English schools»;

2) закрепить в речи учащихся пройденный материал;

3) обеспечить практическое использование полученных знаний, развивать навыки и умения.

Воспитательные:

1) прививать интерес к английскому языку;

2) приобщить учащихся к культуре англоязычных стран.

Задачи:

1) продемонстрировать владение учащимися ранее изученного учебного материала;

2) совершенствовать умение читать текст с детальным пониманием.

Оборудование: доска, компьютер с видеопроектором, презентация Power Point.

Ход урока

1. Приветствие.

Good morning, everybody! Glad to see you. How are you? I’m fine too. Great! We are fine! Let us smile!

I think you’ve noticed that we have guests today. Look at them and don’t worry. Work as you usually work at our English lessons.

2. Объявление целей и задач урока.

 Today we are going to practice Satellite link «Elista – Eton». You have to imagine that you are Kalmyk and English students on TV. Everybody has an opportunity to express his or her opinion. I hope you will find something interesting and new for yourselves.

First we’ll revise the vocabulary. Listen and repeat after the speaker.

RP(s): Hello, Eton!

EP(s): Hi, Elista!

RP 1: We want to know more about English schools. As we know there are different types of schools in England.

EP 1: You are right. There are state and public schools in our country. We don’t  go  to a state school. We go to a public school.

RP 2: Sorry, I don’t understand. As a rule, state schools are for everybody, aren’t they?

EP 1: Yes, they are.

RP 3: But you say public schools aren’t for everybody too. So what s the difference?

EP 2: Everybody makes that mistake. A long time ago the famous public schools used to be for poor people, but now they are private schools and you have to pay to go there. Public schools are not for everybody, they are the most expensive schools for the rich. Do you know about Eton?

RP 4: No, we don t. What is it?

EP 3: Eton  college is the most famous public school. It is very old. It was founded in 1440 by Henry VI.

RP 5: And our school is neither old nor new. It was opened in 1959. It is a state school. Do you  must pay for study to go  Eton college?

EP 4: We have to pay to go there. A year at Eton costs & 20,000. A lot of important people used to be students there. It is an all-boys school. Prince William, the Queen’s grandson, went to Eton too.

RP 6: This is our class. There are 6 pupils in it. My classmates are very friendly. We always help each other. We don’t wear a uniform in our school. And what about you?

EP 5: We have to wear a uniform. We wear a white shirt, black or white trousers and a black or a grey blazer.

RP 1: Our school has got two floors. On the first floor there is a workshop, a library and rooms for Maths, Geography. On the second floors you can find rooms for Russian, Kalmyk, Biology, English and others. The rooms are cosy. We have a computer room where we work with a computer. We can use the Internet there.  

EP 6: Look! This is our school yard. We like to play different games there. Sport is very popular in England you know.

RP 2: Our English language teacher is Vera Kitaevna. At our English lessons we learn English words, translate texts and learn poems by  heart. I like English because I learn a lot of interesting  things.

Dear Mary,

            Thank you for your letter. It was interesting to know about your school and uniform.

            I would like to tell you some things about my school. You know in England schools have names not numbers. Well, I go to Cedar Grove school. It is not very big.  We have ten classrooms and there is a big beautiful hall in it.

            My classroom is comfortable and always clean. There are twenty desks in it. The teacher’s table is near the window. There are three windows in our classroom which are white. The blackboard and the floor are brown. There are nice pictures on the walls.

            What can you write and tell me about your classroom? Write soon.
