People all over the world are
fond of reading. Most of them read for pleasure or in order to get some
information. Reading is very important in our life. Books teach us many useful
things and can help in different
situations. There are
different kinds of books, stories, poems, fairy-tales.
Everyone chooses a book to
his/her taste. A lot of children like to read
fairy-tales. They teach them
to be kind and clever. They also like to read stories because they teach
children not to be naughty, to be brave and clever.
Today we are going to have a
quiz “How Well Do You Know Books?”
It will be dedicated to the
book characters, we`ll speak about books and their authors, we` ll guess the
riddles and play games. We`ll find who is the most quick-witted. Today our two
teams will take part in different competitions. Look, we have two teams –
“Frogs” and “Mice”. Their
captains are …… Now let me
introduce our jury ……
II. Проведение викторины.

T: Our first competition is
greeting. The highest point is … Now we` ll listen to the greeting and to the
motto of each team.
“Mice”:
We think mice are very nice,
Their tails are long, their
faces are small,
They haven t any chins at all.
Their ears are pink, their
teeth are white,
They ran around the house at
night.
They eat things they must not
touch.
And no one seems to like them
much.
But we think mice are very
nice,
Very cute and merry!
“Frogs”
Twenty froggies went to
school,
Down beside a little pool,
Twenty little coats of green,
Twenty shirts all white and
clean.
“We must be in time”, said
they,
“First we study, then we
play,
That is how we keep the rule,
When we froggies go to
school”.
Many, many years have passed,
Big frog they became at last,
They had learned at school a
lot,
No one lesson they forgot.
Now they sit on other logs
Teaching other little frogs:
“Early to bed, early to rise
makes you merry, cute and wise”.

Do not make dog s ears in the
book.
5.
Do not tear the pages.
6.
Do not lose your books or leave
them on shops or buses. That means that you lose your friends.
7.
Return the books in time.

T: While our two teams are
preparing their pictures, we`ll listen to the fans of each team, who have
prepared poems about books. Every poem will bring additional points to the
team.
