The British flag, known as the Union Jack,
is a combination of three flags:
the Saint George's cross (England),
the Saint Andrew's cross (Scotland)
and the Saint Patrick's cross (Ireland).
They represent England, Scotland and Ireland.
Wales isn't represented in the Union Flag:
the Welsh have their own flag.
St. David is the patron Saint. of Wales.

On the left, the shield is supported by the English Lion.

(The unicorn is chained because in mediaeval times a free unicorn was considered a very dangerous beast)

These are buildings in the Parliament Square. They were built between 1840-1852. Their medieval look is misleading. One of the palaces has 2 miles of corridors and more than 1000 rooms. When Parliament is sitting, a flag flies from the Victoria Tower. The Victoria Tower is the tallest tower of the complex. The famous great bell is situated there. The bell and the clock are on the clock tower of these buildings. (It’s the Houses of Parliament)

St Paul’s Cathedral
Everybody coming to London for the first time wants to see St. Paul's Cathedral. This is the third cathedral with this name which London has had. The two others were burnt down, the first in 1086 and the second in 1666.
Christopher Wren was an architect who had already built many buildings. Now, in 1675, he started on his greatest work. For 35 years the building of St. Paul's Cathedral went on, and Wren was an old man before it was finished.
