Внеклассное мероприятие Crosses and Zeroes

Цели: 1. обобщение материала по теме «Звуки музыки»;

2. активизация лексико-грамматических навыков и навыков письма;

3. тренировка монологической и диалогической речи

Оборудование: мультимедиа проектор, экран, колонки, игрушечная гитара, карточки для игры «Переводчик»; бумага для выполнения письменных заданий.

Класс: 11 б

  • Good afternoon, dear boys and girls. Today we have a special lesson. But first of all answer my question. Do you like to play games?

  • Yes, I do.

  • What games do you like to play?

  • Snowball, sea battle, counter strike, hide and seek, leap-frog, brain ring, KVN, etc.

  • Today we shall play the game “Crosses and zeroes”. Слайд № 1. We have two teams. This team will be “Crosses” and that team will be “Zeroes”. So the captain of “Crosses” is … And the captain of Zeroes” is …

  • Now look at the blackboard. You can see the table of our game. In your term you can open one of the squares of the table (one by one) and have the task to do. Both groups do the tasks and we shall decide what group is the best and put the zero or the cross into the square. At the end of our lesson we shall count the crosses and the zeroes and will name the winner of our game. There are 9 tasks. Слайд № 2. They are A cat in a bag, A resume, Guess the melody, A riddle, A translator, The chain, Snowball, Captain is the best and Are you good at singing?.

  • Are you ready to start the game? Let’s start. The first task is Guess the melody. Слайд № 4. But first of all I want you to answer my question. What composers do you know?

  • M.I. Glinka, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, S.S. Prokofiev, A.G. Schnittke , P.I. Tchaikovsky, D.D. Shostakovich, etc.

  • Very good. Now look at the screen. You see three composers. They are Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Mozart. A few seconds later you will hear three melodies. Your task is to match the melody and the composer.

  • Time is over. Let’s check your results. So who is the best? The group of …. put a cross/a zero into the square. Well done! My congratulations.

  • The next task is The chain. Слайд № 3. I give you a key word. You should make up a chain of words which belong to our topic “Sounds of music”. The rule is the next word must begin with the letter that previous word ends and so on. You do the task while the music sounds. The winner is that group who has more right words. Let’s begin. The key word is MUSIC.

  • The task number three is A translator. Слайд № 6. Just imagine that everybody of you is translators. And our guests speak only English. They don’t know Russian. What should you do? While music sounds you should translate the words and phrases from Russian into English. Every pupil must translate only one word, and then you give a sheet of paper to another pupil of your group and so on. The winner is that group which makes the task quicker and more correct. So, let’s go.

  • The next task is Snowball. Слайд № 7. I ask both groups stand up and come to my place. What do you think what it is?

  • A guitar.

  • Exactly. You are right. It is a guitar. It will be our symbol of this task. I want you to pass the guitar each other and say what you think about music. So, Vasya say his sentence and pass the guitar to a pupil from other group. This pupil repeats Vasya’s sentence, says his sentence, and gives the guitar to another pupil from other group and so on. The game continues until somebody makes a mistake. So, let’s begin.

  • The task number five is A cat in a bag. Слайд № 8. On the screen you see six musical instruments. You name one of them. I open the square and you should answer the question. The winner is that group which makes no mistakes. Let’s begin.

  • The task number six is Captain is the best. Слайд № 9. Dear captains, I ask you to call one by one what musical instruments you know.

  • The next task number seven is A riddle. Слайд № 10. Answer my question. What is the most popular people’s activity that is connected with music?

  • Dancing.

  • That’s right. And what dances do you know?

  • Break dance, polka, tango, Latino dances.

  • And what is the most popular pupils’ dance at graduating the school?

  • Walze.

  • Exactly. Now boys, ask our girls for a dance. (физ.пауза)

  • Very good. Well done! They are magnificent, aren’t they? Thank you very much. You are the best.

  • Let’s continue. The next task is A resume [′rezjumei]. Слайд № 11. Look on the screen. You see the photos of the composers. They are M.I. Glinka, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, S.S. Prokofiev, A.G. Schnittke, P.I. Tchaikovsky and D.D. Shostakovich. At the previous lessons we were speaking about the biographies of these composers. Now I ask you to think over and match the name of the composer and the fact from the history. You should do the task until the melody sounds. So let’s begin.

  • And the last task of our game - my favourite task Are you good at singing? Слайд № 5. Tell me please, what kinds of songs do you know?

  • Folk songs, jazz songs, rap songs, lullaby, children’s songs, etc.

  • During last week you prepared to do your best at singing one of the children’s songs. It is called “Green grass”. At this task we shall check your pronunciation, rhythm and artistic. So, let’s begin.

  • Children, look! There are no empty squares in our table now. Let’s count the crosses and the zeroes. How many crosses do we have? And how many zeroes do we have?

  • So, the winner of our game is the team of ….

  • Thank you for your work. Answer my question. What task in our game did you like most of all?

  • It brings us to the end. Your marks are … the game is over. Good-bye, everybody!
