ХОД УРОКА:
Dear
friends! I am glad to see you today at our quiz-game “ENGLISH-SPEAKING
COUNTRIES”. It’s clear to all of you that English-speaking countries are among
the developed capitalist states in the world. Except Great Britain, the most
developed English speaking countries are the United States of America, Canada
and Australia. Today we will revise everything we know about history, culture,
literature, geography, traditions, holidays of the ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES.
We have two teams. Each team has its leader. Please, leaders, tell us your
names and the names of your team.
(LEADERS PRESENT THEIR TEAMS)

(INTRODUCING THE JURY)
I.
Our first task is “Who is the cleverest?” There are some logical
questions and you must faster answer the questions. Which team is to ready,
please, give me a sign: put up your cards. I wish you success!
II.
Our second task is “Capitals and countries”. Look at the board and
match the countries to its capitals. You get one point for each correct answer.
For discussion you have 5 minutes. Good luck!

The third task is for the leaders of the teams. (TASK FOR THE TEAMS’
LEADERS) Please, come up to the table, choose one card in turn, read the
question aloud and answer it. You get one point for each correct answer.
So, let’s sum up the points…

You know a lot of different geographical names, dates, names of famous
people in the ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES. Our next task is to answer the
questions about countries. There are 20 questions; each group must to do 10
tasks. You have 1 minute to discuss each question in your group, after them
give us your answer. Each correct answer will give you one point.

You know that every nation has its proverbs and sayings. For example, in
England they say “My home is my castle”. What is the Russian equivalent of the
saying? Your next task is to match 12 English proverbs and sayings and their
Russian equivalents. You can get 1 point for each correct matching. You have 3
minutes to do the task.
