Сценарий праздника «Christmas»

Цель: познакомить учащихся с обычаями и традициями связанными с празднованием Рождества в странах изучаемого языка.

Задачи:

-создавать условия для формирования и совершенствования коммуникативной компетенции учащихся по теме «Рождество»

-мотивировать учащихся использовать знания, умения и навыки, полученные при изучении английского языка, создавать условия для  повышения интереса к изучению английского языка

 -создавать условия для воспитания культуры мышления,  поведения и языкового общения, умения работать в коллективе, воспитания  у детей чувства дружбы, воспитания у учащихся ответственности за порученное дело, воспитания самостоятельности, толерантности.

-создавать условия для развития смекалки,  внимания у учащихся, памяти, развитие актерских способностей.

Ход занятия

  Good afternoon, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. Christmas is coming soon. Christmas is  the season of goodwill. It is the most marvelous time of love and joy. Today we’ll have a competition, which is devoted to the holiday of Christmas

I heard the bells on Christmas Day

Their old, familiar carols play,

And wild and sweet

The words repeat

Of peace on earth, good-will to men!

CHRISTMAS DAYS

Christmas days are white with snow,

The winds are laughing as they blow.

Across the ponds and lakes we glide,

And over the drifting snow we ride

And down the hills we gaily slide

And shout with all our might:

“Merry Christmas!”

We glad to see you. We are elves. You know, The Queen of Darkness, have kidnaped our Santa. It means that we will not have fun and presents .

Эльф2:Stop! She left the list of things we should do save Santa. Do you agree to help us?

For every well done stage you’ll get a star. The  more we’ll have ,the quicker we’ll save Santa.

Christmas is a religion holiday. It is the time when Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who was very kind and who loved children very much. Many Christians go to church to sing carols and to celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day.

Most people are on holiday in the UK and stay at home with their family on Christmas day. Christmas is a truly magical season, bringing families and friends together to share their much loved customs and traditions. Do you remember the symbols of Christmas?

When people shop for turkeys, crackers and presents, they also pick up holly wreathes.

Carol singing, or Caroling, is singing carols in the street or public places. Christmas carols are special songs which are sung during the Christmas season. The songs are about Jesus and the time when he was born. It is one of the oldest customs in Great Britain, going back to the Middle Ages when beggars, seeking food, money, or drink, would wander the streets singing holiday songs.

-         The second quest “ Christmas words’. Each team should name the words devoted to Christmas in turn. The winner is a team that will name the words as many as possible( Christmas, candles, snow, frost, bells, Santa, Christmas tree, cards, sleigh, deer, a stocking, a sack)

3 конкурс. Текс с картинками. We have a lot of letters from the children each year. We can’t read it, will you help us? The children do the task.

-         The third one is “Jingle Bells” Do you know this song?. There are mixed lines of this song. You are to make the song. O.k. have you done?

Dashing through the snow

In a one-horse open sleigh,

Over the fields we go,

 Laughing all the way;

Bells on bob-tail ring,

Making spirits bright,

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighing song tonight,

-          There are snowflakes on the board. Take one- name the number, and take the similar card. The next task is “Riddles”. Now, dear pupils! You are to say the right answers. Be attentive, please!

4. What is in the middle of Paris?

Чем больше этого есть, тем меньше ты видишь. Что это?( Darkness.)

8. What do cats have that no other animals have? Есть они у кошек, нет у других животных. Что это? (Kittens. Котята.)

9.What is always coming, but never arrives? Что все время приходит, но никак не придет? (Tomorrow. Завтра.)

10.Where can you find roads without cars, forests without trees and cities without houses? Где ты можешь найти дороги без машин, леса без деревьев и города без домов?( On a map. На карте.)

11. I am a big farm animal. I can be black, white or brown. I like to eat green grass.

12. What goes around the world but stays in a corner? (Stamp)

-         The next  Task is “Christmas Questions”

1.     When do the English celebrate Christmas?(On the 25^th of December)

2.     When do we celebrate Christmas?(On the 7^th of Junuary) 

3.     What’s the 24^th of December? (Christmas Eve)

4.     What is the 26 of December? (Boxing Day)

5.     What is Boxing Day? What do people do on this day?( It’s the custom of presenting servants with a Christmas box or gift)

6.     What is hung up as Christmas decoration, allows you to kiss whoever you like underneath it? (A mistletoe)

7.     What is the tradition dish of Christmas?( a goose/a turkey).

-Make the puzzle. You have the Christmas  cards. We’ll give you the cards which are cut. Each card has wishes for you. Your task is to do the puzzle and read your wishes.
