Цель: сравнение и понимание между различными субкультурами, реалиями и понятиями.
Задачи: сравнить и проанализировать самые популярные субкультуры не только в России, но и среди молодежи нашей школы.
Изучая на уроках иностранного языка субкультуры меня заинтересовала эта тема, и я решил для себя не только рассмотреть наиболее популярные субкультуры, но и глубоко изучить каждую в отдельности.
I’ve chosen the topic “The Youth view on the most popular subcultures in Russia”.
It’s not very easy to describe it, but I’ll do all my best to do it as interesting as possible. I’ve chosen this topic, because it interesting – to study the subcultures in Russia.
My work consists of the much information about every subcultures, photo materials and graphics.
Young people have a particular relationship with the world. There are many groupings that have interests different from those of mainstream culture. A particular cultural grouping is a way for young people to express their individuality. Listen to the definition of a subculture given by the encyclopedia and compare it with yours.
“In the broadest sense, a subculture is any group within a larger complex culture who has interests that vary from those of the mainstream (or dominant) culture. But in a more specific sense, a subculture is a group with a distinct style and identity. Different subcultures have their own beliefs, value systems, fashion, and favorite music”.

PUNKS
A young person who dresses in a shocking way to express his or her identity. He or she has brightly colored hair and wears metal chains. The person is thought to rebel against the society. The music is aggressive. They reject everything.
HIPPIE
Some classify these types of people like drug users and rock and roll fans, since their behaviors differ from social norms. They don’t keep to society’s standards and support a liberal attitude and lifestyle. They always want to change the world to the best.
SKINHEADS
They cut their shorter than others do. The majority of them are working class, patriotic, reggae and football fanatics, and very uninterested in politics. Most wear tight trousers and heavy boots (Doc Martens) and are usually regarded as violent and aggressive.
BIKERS
All persons who ride two or sometimes three wheeled motorized vehicles. Bikers identify themselves with a particular subculture. They have their own values and beliefs. Bikers prefer to wear leather jackets and trousers. Some people consider bikers aggressive, but in most cases they have only threatening appearance. They have more freedom and think that riding a bike is great.
GOTHS
The members of this subculture wear the blackest black, with a lot of silver jewellery and have very black hair and look as thin and pale as possible. The members of this subculture gather together to read Bram Stoker and talk about being vampires, and about the end of the world.
RAVERS
The members of this subculture use computer-made, synthesized music, and drugs to create massive all-night dance parties in empty ware-houses. Ravers like to be in a collective. They want to try out all sorts of options and are thought to be violent and to show strong physical force.
ROCKERS
The members of this subculture wear leather jackets, army boots and cowboy hats just to show off. They are associated with something rebellious. The adults consider rockers to be aggressive so they probably don’t like them.
HACKERS
These people are the “wizards” of the computer community; people with a deep understanding of how their computers work. Hackers can do such things with their computer programmers that seem “magical”. Sometimes they do illegal things. The members of this subculture do not protest against their parents.
EMO
Emo is a style of rock music typically characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. As the style was echoed by contemporary American punk bands, its sound and meaning shifted and changed, blending with pop punk and indie rock and encapsulated in the early 1990s by groups such as Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid 1990s numerous emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central United States, and several independent record labels began to specialize in the style.
SATANISTS
Satanism is a term that refers to a number of related belief systems. Their commonality is that they all feature the symbolism of Satan or similar figures. Originally, this figure was the one who challenged the religious faith of humans in the Hebrew Bible. Since then, the Abrahamic religions have variously regarded Satan as a rebellious fallen angel or demon that tempts humans to sin or commit evil deeds. Others regard the Biblical Satan as an allegory that represents a crisis of faith, individualism, free will, wisdom and enlightenment.
RASTAFARI
Subculture, arising up in 20-e XX v. on Jamaica and leaving roots in the syncretism cults of countries of Africa and Caribbean pool. Other characteristics of Rastafari include the spiritual use of cannabis.
GOPS
Approximately with 1970-1980-Х years gops name primitive, intellectually undeveloped, having little education young people. Gops itself gops do not name. This concept from the very beginning was used only outside of goply layers. The word has got accustomed in the environment of on whom hooliganism gops - legislative citizens has been directed, representatives of informal youth and so forth. gops usually name each other "boys", real boys, etc. As against the majority of informal associations of youth gops did not appropriate to other population of any names and did not allocate itself in separate group concerning all population. Thus, gops do not realize itself as subculture.
Antidrugs subculture in Nadym began with the appearance of Nadym youth club “green peace”. Core of it appeared in the early their ideas include love, peace, and freedom of self-expression, don’t take any drugs. Against the background of speeches, reports, slogans, which served as a smokescreen for drugs and for corruption. “Antidrugs” showed to young people an alternative to all that.
Remarkably, which in society at large the drug problem is becoming more serious, with the “antidrugs” community it has stopped growing. Today “antidrugs” is more socially active. They set up environmental groups and join charily projects: stop AIDS and “antipoison”.
What is your attitude towards the following opinion about drugs and drugs addition?
- It causes to loose everything, financially and emotionally.
- The popularity of drugs can be explained by the failure of our culture to allow us to express ourselves freely.
- Drugs rain our dreams. They make our lives unhappy.
- A lot of people take drugs as rebellion.
- Techno life means non-stop partying-and, of course, partying usually makes people take drugs.
- Drugs help to escape from the problems and boredom of everyday life.
- The idea that drugs can help to escape problems is nonsense.
- The unpleasant side of drugs is degradation. All of them destroy people, they’ve lives got that death tag on them.
My friends try to help each other if we can. Our golden rule is do into others as you would have them to do unto into you, anything else is not necessary.
