«Защита окружающей среды» / Protecting the environment

предметам; 3) активизировать процессы мышления;
I.
-Good

-How
are these photos connected with the topic of our lesson today?
environment,
pollution, saving the Earth, protecting the Earth)

урока
– Protecting the environment)
You’ve
been discussing this topic for many years in different lessons.
Can
you answer the following questions now: 1) What do you know about the
ecological situation in the world? What are the most polluted regions? 2) What
are the most urgent ecological issues nowadays? 3) What, in your opinion, needs
to be done in order to improve the situation?
III.
знаний
While
we’ve been discussing these questions, we’ve mentioned some words related to
the topic. Now let’s look at them, and other words as well, once again.
Look
at these words and divide them into groups. How many groups can we make?
2 groups:
problems and solutions.
Very
well. Now, who can give me the definition the word ‘pollution’ (damage caused
to water, air, etc. by harmful substances or waste)? ‘global warming’ (an
increase in the temperature of the air around the world because of pollution)?
‘recycling’ (the process of putting paper, glass, plastic, etc. through a process
so that it can be used again)?
And
a few more words: (слайд со
словами).
Match synonyms. ( a) conserve PRESERVE b) combat FIGHT c) address COPE
WITH d) impact AFFECT e) contaminate POLLUTE f) at stake IN DANGER g) destroy
DAMAGE h) severe SERIOUS)
Great
job! Now can you ask questions using the words from the previous activities and
these question words: Who? What? Where? When? Why?
задают
Who can preserve nature? What destroy natural habitats? What is at stake? Where
deforestation takes place? When did the global warming start? Why recycling is
so important?)
III.
знаний
Excellent.
But, unfortunately, we can’t discuss all environmental problems today. That is
why we are going to talk only about one, but quite important thing.
In
nature everything is closely connected, although some single phenomena are more
important than others in the natural balance of both living and non-living
matter.
What
substance, in your opinion, is hidden here in the box? It’s the most important
one on the Earth. These riddles can help you to guess.
с
Yes,
it’s water,(Достаю стакан
воды
из
one of the riddles of our planet that a lot of humans are trying to solve, but
no one has succeeded yet. Antoine de Saint-Exupery (слайд
с
once said: ‘We admire you without knowing what you are!’
Let’s
see what YOU know about it.
Fill
in the gaps using the words given.
(Water
is the most common substance on the Earth. Water
is chemically active. It reacts with many simple
and complex substances. Water is a unique solvent for solid, liquid and gaseous substances.)
What
is the chemical formula of water? (H2O)
Who
and when introduced this formula? (Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac in 1805)
What water properties do you know? As for taste…(tasteless), as for
colour…(colourless), as for smell…(odorless).
What are the three states of water? (Liquid, solid, gaseous).Give example of
liquid state? solid state? gaseous state?
Look at the map. What two civilizations considered water as healing one?
(Chinese and Indians)
What
percentage of the Earth’s surface does it cover? (approx.
And
humans consist of about how many per cent water?
So,
as we can see, it is vital for all known forms of life.
Please,
can you summarise what we’ve just revised about water.
Thank
you. Now work in pairs and write a syncrane.
But
still people don’t consider water as a treasure of our planet. A lot of fresh
water (пресная вода)
is used for industrial needs, and some countries are suffering from the lack of
fresh drinking water. Thus, Germany brings fresh water in the country from
Sweden.
Look at this diagram. Explain, what you can see on it.
Fortunately,
people are starting to realize the importance of protecting environment, and
water as well. There appear different organizations that try to draw our
attention to the ecological problems of the present day even in quite creative
way (слайд с
с
Look
at these pictures of the past. Describe one of it and think …what can cause
water pollution in the painting you’ve chosen.
And
what can WE do to save water?
Thank
you for the lesson. You worked awesome! The lesson is over.
