 Lesson aims:

Purpose: formation of students ' respectful attitude to various professions and a conversation about their conscious choice. Talk about soft skills and hard skills.

Tasks: 1. Improve communication skills (reading, listening, speaking skills on the topic "The World of professions").

2. Systematize the studied lexical and grammatical material on the topics of "Professions" and "Skills and abilities».

3. Develop the skills of monological oral speech based on a sample.

Subject results:

- improvement of practical skills to use the acquired knowledge.

- expanding students ' understanding of the world of professions.

- determination of the main factors influencing the choice of profession.

Personal results:

- formation of a respectful attitude to the language and culture of other people.

- awareness of responsibility for the common cause.

- development of independence, goodwill, compliance with the norms of speech and non-speech behavior in these communication situations.

- development of skills of cooperation with peers in the process of joint activities.

- determination of self-esteem based on the success criterion.

Timing: 1 hour 30 min (at college we have pairs)

Materials and aids: computer, Skype, multimedia, presentation on the topic "The World of professions", cards for group work, texts.

5-10 min	Introduction to the topic of the lesson. Goal setting. Definition of the work plan.	Students look at the screen with our guest where is the following task “Put the letters in the correct order and guess the topic”. Also we choose the motor of our lesson. 7-10 min	Development of conversational and listening skills. Warming up.	Students play game “Mystery Skype” with the teacher from another country. The task is to guess the country asking only general questions.	T-Ss	Skype. Maps. Phones
7-10	Activation of vocabulary on the topic of "Professions" and performing exercises	Our guest interacts with the students further asking some questions. Students are able to ask questions too.	T-Ss	Skype, Presentation.
50 min	Activation of vocabulary on the topic of "Professions" and performing exercises	We say goodbye to our guest and follow our presentation to fulfil vocabulary.  Students get papers and do different tasks connected to the lesson. The examples of the tasks: 1.What’s important in choosing profession? When choosing a future career, it’s a good idea to take different factors into account. You should think about job satisfaction, money, friendly atmosphere, good conditions, training and travel. Money is an important factor when people choose a job. There are well-paid and low-paid jobs. Say which are the best and worst paid jobs in Britain? Make up sentences using two columns. Don’t forget to use a proper form of the verb. 2. When choosing a career a person should take into account different traits of character. 3. Choose adjectives to describe someone who and so on.	(Ss-Ss)	Presentation. Papers with the tasks.
