1.
Good morning, boys and girls. Sit down. Today we have
a final lesson on our topic «What are we like?» We’ll know more information
about your classmates’ appearance and about your friends’ appearance and
their characters, hobbies and interests. Your hometask was to do projects. You
were divided into two groups. The first group was to find the information about
clothes’ styles, the second about people’s appearance: if it is so important to
look nice. Let’s begin to present the general information.
Pupil 1.
There are many
different kinds of clothes’ styles. The history of making of these clothes is
very interesting. These styles are: classical, romantic, sports style, English
style and retro, safari and jeans styles.
Pupil 2.
As for my
classmates, they like to wear different clothes. Boys wear blue or black jeans
and some girls like to wear jeans too but other pupils wear skirts and blouses.
Pupil 3.
I think that
sports style is very suitable for them, especially for boys.
Pupil 4.
I agree with
you, but most girls like to wear jeans or trousers after school too. They look
nice. Fifteen pupils wear sports style and only ten pupils wear classical one.
So, I see that most our pupils like to wear sports style.
Pupil 5.
I think that
clothes make the man. Young people want to be modern. It is so necessary today
to be a good person.
- What is your favourite style?
- Do you like to wear jeans or
trousers?
- What does your father like to
wear?
- Do you like to wear dresses or
skirts?
- What is your favourite clothes’
style?
Pupil 1.
My parents and
I think it’s important to look great. People should take care of their
appearance and worry about how they look.
Pupil 2.
Sometimes we
can judge about his or her mood and even character by person’s appearance. Pupil
3.
All pupils of
our class try to go to school very accurate. They don’t like to wear a
wrinkled
shirt or a
blouse and dirty clothes.
Pupil 4.
Many boys and
girls want to look nice. They like to have a modern hair-do, that’s why they
go to the
hairdresser’s every two months.
Pupil 5.
But
appearances are deceptive. There is a boy among my friends. He always wears new
modern clothes. His hair-do is stylish. But he is a very ugly boy. The girls
don’t like him.
Teacher:
I also think
it’s important to look great. People should worry how they look every day.
There are many
Russian proverbs about that.
-
« Внешность обманчива»;
-
«Не всё то золото, что блестит»;
-
«О вкусах не спорят»;
-
Look at the
board. I’ll read these proverbs in English, and you’ll find their Russian
equivalents.
“Appearances
are deceptive”;
“All is not gold
that glitters”;
“Tasters
differ”;
“Clothes make
the man”.
- Do all your friends worry about
how they look?
- Do you take care of your
appearance when you are at home?
- How often do you go to the hairdresser’s?
- Have you a granny? Does she
like to take care of her appearance?
