Коммуникативная задача решена, соблюдены основные правила оформления текста.
Соблюдается правильный порядок слов. Правильно выбрана запрашиваемая
информация. Диапазон используемых языковых средств широк. Обучающийся показал
знание большого запаса лексики и использовал её с учётом норм языка.
Оценка «4»
Коммуникативная задача решена, но лексико – грамматические погрешности
препятствуют пониманию. Использован достаточный объём лексики, допущены
отдельные неточности в употреблении слов. Были сделаны некоторые ошибки,
нарушающие коммуникацию. Не все основные факты были поняты.
Оценка «3» Коммуникативная
задача решена, но языковые погрешности препятствуют пониманию текста. В
работе имеется ряд грамматических ошибок, не препятствующих пониманию текста.
В некоторых местах нарушалась последовательность высказывания. Обучающийся
понял неправильно отдельные факты.
Оценка «2».
Коммуникативная задача не решена. Отсутствует логика в построении
высказывания. Обучающийся не обладает необходимым запасом слов.
Грамматические правила не соблюдаются.

Many, many years ago there lived a king.
He was very reach and he had everything he wanted. His country was strong and
famous, but the king was not happy. So once day he went to a wise old man and
asked him how to become happy. The wise man listened to him and then said,
“There is very little happiness in this world, but I know the way to find it.”
‘Show me the way to find it, then”, said the king.
“ It` s very easy, answered the
old man. “ You have only to put on the shirt of a happy man.”
The king thanked the old man and
began to look for a happy man. He visited most of the capitals of the world. He
met kings, barons, aristocrats, but they were not happy.
At last he came back to his
country. One day he saw a poor farmer working in the field. He was singing and
there was a happy look on his face. The king asked the farmer: “Are you happy?”
‘Very happy”, answered the poor man. ‘Well, then,” said the king, ‘sell me your
shirt.”
‘My shirt?” said the farmer in
surprise. “I haven` t got a shirt. I hope to buy a shirt soon, but I am happy”.

ride a bicycle again at your age”, his wife said.
But
it was not too hard for Mr. Holland to do. He usually sat in his living room
and read the newspaper in the evening, but he bought a bicycle for his birthday
and practiced riding it every evening instead. He hopes that it would help him
to get thinner, and he got a lot of pleasure from it.
He
found little roads which not really very narrow, but were too narrow for cars,
and there he got away from the nasty noises of the city, which were becoming
too much for him. They were not really very loud, but they were too loud for
Mr. Holland.
Then
he began to go his office by bicycle. Sometimes all the cars stopped at a red
light, and he went past them to the front, because his bicycle was narrow. Then
he was very happy.
Yesterday
he stopped at a red light, and a man came up behind him on another bicycle. he
stopped too and to Mr. Holland, “Have the police taken your driving license
away too?”

always say that I am not little any more and I am not interested in any theme
parks. When my classmates invite me to go there with them I always: “No, I am
busy doing more interesting things than going to the amusement park.”

Wheel. My sister and I got into the car. There are four seats in each Wheel
car. We waited a little and then I saw two girls from my class. They saw me,
laughed and took their seats in our car. They had a very good time and laughed
a lot. I think they laughed at me. My sister also had a great time… But not me…

My Usual Shopping Round
We go shopping every day. The other day my mother took
me on a usual shopping round. We went to the grocer's and greengrocer's as we
had run out of sugar and onions.
At the greengrocer's there was a long queue. But we
had nothing to do but stand in the queue if we wanted to get to the counter and
have some onions. The shop-girl weighed us half a kilo of onions, we thanked
her and went out.
Then we made our way to the grocer's where we bought a
kilo of sugar and some sausage. We were about to go home as my mother suddenly
remembered we had hardly any bread in the house.
We dropped in at the baker's and bought a loaf of
brown bread, some rolls and buns. On our way home the mother decided to call at
a commercial shop. She was looking for a present to my father — as it was his
birthday soon.
As soon as we entered the shop, we found ourselves in
a fantastic motley city of silk skirts and shirts, woollen pullovers, frocks
and leather boots and shoes. The smiling girl met us at the counter.
My mother said she wanted to buy a size 50 shirt of a
dark-blue colour. The girl suggested looking at a dark-blue cotton shirt with
short sleeves. The shirt was the latest fashion and we were sure the father
would like it.
We paid the money at the cash-desk. The cashier gave
us a receipt and with it we came up to the shop-assistant. She passed us a
wrapped parcel with the shirt, thanked us and added they were always glad to
see us at their shop and we happy and a bit excited went out of the shop.

Seasons
Here are four
seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Every season is beautiful
in its own way.
When spring
comes nature awakens from its long winter sleep. The days become longer and the
nights become shorter. The ground is covered with emeraldgreen grass and spring
flowers. The air is fresh, the sky is blue and cloudless, and the sun shines
brightly. The trees are in full blossom. The nightingale begins to sing its
lovely songs, and sweet melodies may be heard from every wood and park. The
days are warm and everything is full of life and joy.
Spring is
followed by summer. The weather is usually fine in summer, but it can be very
hot, especially in July. Sometimes there are storms with thunder and lightning.
In summer people try to get away from the city noise and spend more time in the
open air. They pick mushrooms and berries in the forest, swim in the rivers and
lakes, go fishing and boating. Most people prefer to have their holidays in
summer.
Autumn begins
in September. The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The leaves
turn yellow, red and brown and fall to the ground. Most birds fly away to warm
countries. There's a short spell of dry sunny weather in September which is
called Indian Summer. It's a beautiful time when the sky is cloudless, the
trees around are golden, the air is transparent and it's still warm. But
gradually it gets colder and colder. It often rains in October and November
which makes autumn an unpleasant season.
In winter the
sun sets early and rises late. The rivers and lakes are frozen over. Everything
is covered with snow. Sometimes it's very cold, about 25-30 degrees below zero.
Going out in such weather isn't very pleasant. Winter is a good time for
sports. People go in for skating and skiing. Tobogganing is also popular, not
as a kind of sports, but rather as fun.
As for me, I
like all seasons, but I think there's nothing like late spring.

Ecology is the
study that helps to preserve the Earth, its plants and animals. It is also
supposed to study the environment and the relationship between human activities
and nature. Until recently this relationship was in balance. However, at
present times we have to face such ecological problems as acid rain, global
warming, loss of rare species, ozone reduction, etc. Many scientists think that
it is connected with industrial boom and development of civilization in the
world. Building numerous factories people have started to interfere intensively
in nature. Every year world industry pollutes the atmosphere with tons of dust
and other harmful things. As a result many species of animals and plants
disappear forever, including fish and birds.
Many large cities
suffer from factory smog. Their activity pollutes the air, the water, the
forests and the land. Apart from factories there are lots of vehicles in the
streets of every more or less developed city. It includes cars, motorbikes,
buses, minivans, trucks and other types of transport which use fuel. First of
all, they exhaust toxic gases into the air.
Secondly, they are
considered to be the main noise offenders in the city. This problem
progresses as the number of cars increases from year to year. As a result the
level of harmful substances in the air also increases. Another problem which is
worth mentioning is the tree cutting.
Trees are a source
of oxygen and clean air. So, by doing this people simply violate the biological
balance. All the above mentioned ecological problems are the result of man’s
careless interaction with nature. In my opinion, environmental protection
should become of a global concern and serious measures should be taken to
create ecological security.

As
for me, I have made up my mind to be an engineer. As my parents are an
engineers they have made a great influence on my choice and I can say that this
profession runs the family. My choice of this occupation didn't come as a
sudden flash. I think that nowadays this profession is of great need and

serve the interests of my country. To be a well prepared engineer I should have
some important qualities: great capability persistence, knowledge of science

with the knowledge would be quiet enough to succeed in my work.

After
the last bell at school, I had to continue to go to school to do some work. We
helped our teacher to repair our classroom. We went on different excursions: to
the botanical garden, to the history museums and galleries.
After
my practice finished, the real summer holidays started. I slept till midday, I
didn’t spend my time on studies, but I did spend a lot of time in front of my
computer and I did everything I couldn’t do during the school year. Everything
looked like a usual holiday to me, but I didn’t know then that I was going to
have the best holiday in my life.
One day my father came home and said that in July we would go to Egypt.
It was fantastic! I had never been abroad before and it was a real shock for
me. I was looking forward to this day and finally it came. So, on the 14th of
July we packed our suitcases and went to Kiev so that we could fly to
Sharm-el-Sheikh from Borispol airport in Kiev.
It was the first time when I travelled by plane and I thought it would be
really scary. But the flight was smooth and comfortable. It took us 4 hours to
flight from Kiev to Sharm-el-Sheikh.
The moment we arrived I knew that I loved the place. Our hotel was very modern
and beautiful and the room we had to live in had a sea view. In addition to the
Red Sea, we could swim in an enormous swimming-pool in front of the hotel.
Leaving our luggage unpacked, we rushed to the sea. It was really great! The
sea was very warm, clean and full of different fish and seaweeds.
Since it was a seaside holiday, we swam and sunbathed, then swam and sunbathed
again. In a few days we went on excursion to Cairo to see the pyramids. I even
couldn’t imagine that they were so huge! The Sphinx was enormously giant and
absolutely gorgeous. Also we didn’t want to lose a chance to visit Israel
as this country borders on Egypt. In Israel we visited very famous places,
which were mentioned in the Bible. It was very interesting and instructive.
But unfortunately all good comes to an end sooner or later. We had to come back
to Ukraine, but I had a lot of impressions to share with my friends and a lot
of souvenirs to present them.
I spent the rest of summer at my Granny’s. She lives in a small but marvelous
town and I like to spend my holidays there. I have a lot of friends there too.
We went to the lake where we swam, sunbathed and played volleyball. Also we went
to the forest and picked mushrooms. We had picnics and garage parties. It was
very funny.
One day I had to go home and to start my studies again. I am looking forward to
the next summer and hope that it wouldn’t be less exciting than the previous one.

two thirds of its lands. Canada’s rivers are another valuable
resource. Canada has so much waterpower that it is selling power to the United States.

Travelling.
Modern life is impossible
without travelling. True, we often get tired of the same surroundings and daily
routine. Hence some relaxation is essential to restore our mental and physical
resources. That is why the best place of relaxation, in my opinion, is the one
where you have never been before. And it is by means of travelling that you get
to that place.
To understand how true it is you’ve got to go to a railway station, a sea or a
river port or an airport. There you are most likely to see hundreds of people
hurrying to board a train, a ship or a plane.
To be on the safe side and to spare yourself the trouble of standing long hours
in the line, you’d better book tickets in advance. All you have to do is to
ring up the airport or the railway station bookin office and they will send
your ticket to your place. And, of course, before getting off you have to make
your preparations. You should settle all your business and visit your friends
and relatives. On the eve of your departure comes you call a taxi and go to the
airport or the railway station.
For some time you stay in the waiting-room. If you are hungry you take some
refreshments. In some time the loud speaker announces that the train or the
plane is in and the passengers are invited to take their seats. If you travel
by train you find your carriage, enter the corridor and find your berth. It may
be a lower berth, which is more convenient or an upper one. You put your
suitcase into a special box under the lower seat. Then you arrange your smaller
packages on the racks. In some the train starts off. Travelling by train is
slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see the country you are
travelling through and enjoy the beautiful nature. It may be an express train
or a passenger one. There is no doubt it’s much more convenient to travel by an
express train, because it does not stop at small stations and it takes you less
time to get to your destination.
But if you are in a hurry and want to save your time you’d better travel by
plane, because it is the fastest way of travelling. After the procedure of
registration you board the plane at last. You sit down in comfortable armchair
and in a few minutes you are already above the clouds. The land can be seen
below between the clouds and it looks like a geographical map. After the plane
gained its regular height the stewardess brings in some mineral water. You can
sit and read a book or a magazine, look through the window to watch the passing
clouds change their color from white to black.
Some people prefer to travel by ship when possible. A sea voyage is very
enjoyable, indeed. But to my mind the best way of travelling is by car. The
advantages of this way of spending your holiday are that you don’t have to buy
a ticket, you can stop wherever you wish, where there is something interesting
to see. And for this reason travelling by car is popular for pleasure trips
while people usually take a train or a plane when they are travelling on
business.
When you get tired of relaxation, you become home-sick and feel like returning
home. You realize that “East or West – home is best”, as the saying goes.

Transport
To
my mind the best way to travel along the city is to walk. When you go on foot
you do not depend on any kind of transport. You can observe the beauty of the
buildings and landscapes wandering along the streets, you can go anywhere you
like. These are the advantages. But of course the disadvantages of foot walks
are the time you spent while walking. If you are short of time and you are in
a hurry it is better take advantage of any means of public transport. If you
live not far from the underground I advise you to use this means of
transport.
First of all it's the fastest. Underground trains run every
3 to 5 minutes. It is also the most reliable type of transport. With trams,
trolley-buses and buses, there are lots of things that may interfere with
their normal operations. But all years I have been travelling by metro it has
never let me down. As for the fare, it's a little more expensive than trams
and trolley-buses but cheaper than most buses and shuttle minibuses (route
taxis). The only problem with the underground that it does not cover the
whole city. But every metro station has good trolley-bus, bus and shuttle
minibus connections. You can also travel along the city by car if you have
one
But the traffic in the city is very heavy, especially
during the day time. There are a lot of traffic jams on the roads, so maybe
it is more convenient to go by underground. If you want to reach the place of
destination without any problems and in a short period of time you can order
a taxi by telephone. But bear in mind that it can be rather expensive. I wish
you to have a good time and nice impressions of the city.
