Цели урока: - развитие умений говорения и
аудирования;
- введение и закрепление новой лексики;
- развитие умений работы в парах и группах.
Оборудование: учебник, кассета с аудиозаписями,
слайды.
Ход урока:
1. Организационный момент.
- Приветствие, сообщение целей урока.
Good morning, my dear friends. Glad to see you again. How
are you doing?
The weather is nice today, isn’t it?
The world around us is also nice, isn’t it?
Today we are going to speak about the world. We’ll find out
what is globalisation. Is it good or
bad? (Cлайд 2)
2. Речевая разминка.
But first I want you to answer my questions:

How fast is the world’s population
growing?
·
What per cent of the world’s population
lives in the cities?
·
Is China’s booming economy leading to
new trends in global tourism?
·
Are some parts of the world cut off
from Internet?
·
Which are the world’s major religions?
Now, listen and check your answers. (Ex. 44, p.20)
3. Выполнение вводных упражнений.
OK, well done! Look at the pictures now and say what
countries and cultures you associate these objects with. (Слайд 3).
Yes, you are right. People all over the world know all
these objects, and now I want you to match the global objects and the names
that have come from different countries to the countries of their origin. (Слайд 4).
And here you can see examples of globalization (Слайд 5).
These brands and names are well-known all over the world.

It’s time to work in pairs. Can you write
2 or 3 phrases to explain the word
“globalization”, please? (Слайд 6).
- Read the text in your textbook (p.21). Was your
explanation close to the explanation given in the text?

Let’s work with new vocabulary. These words will help you

OK. You are very good and hard-working students. The next
task for you is to examine two following hypotheses.
The first one is: (Слайд 10)
Teenagers are natural globalists. They want to know more
about other people and places. They are interested in technological
developments and want to learn more about technology. They want to experience
other cultures.
The second hypothesis is: (Слайд 11)
Teenagers are afraid of globalisation. They are not
interested in people from other places, don’t want to buy any foreign goods and
don’t want to
Connect with other cultures at all.
The result of our research suggests that teenagers are
natural globalists and are largely in favour of globalisation. (Слайд 12).
To do this task you should find out all advantages and
disadvantages Globalisation has. Look at this slide (Слайд 13) and you can
add some of these points into your lists.
8. Развитие навыков монологической речи.
Finally, let’s summarize our research and present your
position to the class.
Which group would you support: globalists or
anti-globalists and why?

9. Итоги урока.
Thanks. Good work, dear students. You see, the result of
our research is:
Nearly all of the teenagers were very positive towards
technology, cultural exchange, trade, international goods. Most students in our
class think that Globalisation is good and they are for Globalisation. (Слайд 15).
