The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
We always choose English for learning first but we can`t visit this country about country-mistress of I choose this country for my presentation because I learn its language. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, also known as the UK, is a multi-national state composed of four parts: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Люди хоть и учат английский но не могут посетить далекую Англию по множеству причин. Я изучаю эту страну и поэтому хочу помочь
4 слайд
England
Vastly diverse and populated with a fascinating blend of international cultures from around the globe, the United Kingdom, situated in Western Europe, is recognized as a thriving nation that offers all the elements of balanced modern day living. Respective of Great Britain’s amazing heritage are the historical monuments and fancy buildings that rise tall in every village, town, city, and country.
5 слайд
Tower of London
Prison, palace, treasure vault, observatory, and menagerie - the Tower of London has done it all. Widely considered the most important building in England, there's enough to see and do at this World Heritage Site to keep visitors busy for hours. The centerpiece is the White Tower. it's home to amazing exhibits such as Line of Kings, the world's oldest visitor attraction.
6 слайд
Eden Project
The incredible Eden Project is a collection of unique artificial biomes containing an amazing collection of plants from around the world. The complex consists of huge domes that look rather like massive igloo-shaped greenhouses. Each houses thousands of different plant species in tropical and Mediterranean environments. As well as these stunning displays of plant life, the Eden Project hosts numerous fantastic arts and music events.
7 слайд
York Minster and Historic Yorkshire
The magnificent York Minster is second in importance in the Church of England. It stands in the center of York, surrounded by half-timbered homes and shops, medieval guildhalls, and churches. I would like to visit the National Railway Museum, one of England's most visited tourist attractions. York is a good base for exploring the countryside.
8 слайд
Royal Museums Greenwich
Downstream from Tower Bridge, Greenwich is the London base of the Royal Navy and holds England's largest expanses of preserved historic architecture and parks. And although lovers of things maritime will certainly gravitate to Greenwich, there's a lot more there than ships and boats.
The highlight for most visitors is the Cutty Sark, the last surviving of the 19th-century clippers from the lucrative tea trade between Britain and China. Built in 1869, the Cutty Sark was one of the finest and fastest ships of its day, and you can board it to explore the clipper, from its figure head to the sailors' quarters below decks.
9 слайд
Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is located on the island of Ireland and is administratively part of the United Kingdom. Northern Ireland has stunning landscapes and scenery. Despite its former reputation as being violent and dangerous the political situation has stabilised quite a bit. Although a few extremist paramilitary organizations are still active, this part of Ireland is much safer to visit than formerly.
10 слайд
The giant's causeway
The Giant's Causeway consists of thousands of basalt columns perfectly formed from a volcanic eruption. As the lava dried, creating symmetrical hexagonal pillars in the form of a staircase. Wow, Mother Nature is quite the artist! When I saw the Giant's Causeway, I found this science nearly impossible to believe. It's too perfect. It looks like the interlocking brick walk.
11 слайд
Dunluce Castle
The ruin of medieval Dunluce Castle has a long and dramatic history that can be traced back to as early as the year 1500. Today it is one of the main attractions on the North Antrim Coast and is regarded as one of the main historical sites in the whole of the North of Ireland. The ruins are spectacular and well worth a visit, but the highlight of Dunluce Castle for me is the breath-taking views that surround it.It is situated between Portballintrae and Portrush, two of the most beautiful seaside towns the North has to offer.
I am a Game of Thrones fan, so I really intrested in it, because The ruins of Dunluce Castle is the real-life location of the Greyjoys’ seat of power.
12 слайд
The Dark Hedges
The village of Bushmills (famous for one of the world’s oldest whiskey distilleries) represents the Dark Hedges.
It is the most photographed location in Northern Ireland. Even the wildly popular Game of Thrones has popped over to the Dark Hedges to film a scene at this eerily beautiful road. That’s way I would like to visit this place!
13 слайд
The Stormont Castle
Stormont Castle was built in 1858 in baronial style, complete with turrets, battlements and conical caps. The Castle the official residence of the Prime Minister, houses the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister. The building is not accessible by the general public. Still, it's nice to admire from behind the security barrier.
Whether Stormont is a “white elephant” or a burden on Northern Ireland is up for debate. What isn’t debated is how admirable a building it is, and the setting of a long road up to the top makes it a really pleasant sight. I`d like to see a statue of Dublin Unionist Edward Carson, it is the most striking image on the way to the front of the building.
14 слайд
Scotland
Scotland is the second-largest of the constituent nations of the United Kingdom. Scotland has lively and friendly cities, often of great architectural significance, and a rich history and heritage dating back thousands of years with many ancient and historic sites. Other characteristics that attract droves of visitors include golf (the game was created in Scotland), whisky, family history, hiking, wildlife and winter sports. Around Loch Ness in the north of the Highlands, you can also hunt for the Monster... or at least try.
15 слайд
Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile
The stone towers and walls of Edinburgh Castle have dominated the Edinburgh skyline since the 13th century. Perched atop black basalt rock, it offers magnificent views of the city and a trip through Scotland's tumultuous history.
If I had an opportunity to visit the castle I would visit not only the Royal Apartments, but also Scottish National War Memorial for fascinating architecture and history.
16 слайд
Loch Ness
Loch Ness is a large, deep, freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Inverness.
It is interested me because of the the legend of Loch Ness Monster. Since childhood, I have heard many stories about Nessie and I used to believed it was true.
17 слайд
Harry potter train
What we call the Hogwarts Express is actually the Jacobite Train, which runs the 84-mile stretch separating Fort William from Mallaig on the West Highland Railway Line. It’s often dubbed one of the greatest rail journeys in the world, and rightfully.
The scenery, aside from the Harry Potter-related bits of course, is absolutely stunning.
18 слайд
The kelpies at the helix
Located in between Falkirk and Grangemouth, The Helix is a vast parkland space and home to the The Kelpies by Andy Scott. These two enormous horse head sculptures are a testament to the area’s equine-powered heritage and have to be seen to be believed.
When I look at these heads my heart stops at such beautiful buildings. And it is also the place for lovers of spectacular photos
19 слайд
Wales
Wales is one of the countries that make up the United Kingdom. Rich in history and natural beauty, Wales has a living Celtic culture distinct to the rest of the UK. Travelers are attracted to Wales because of its beautiful landscape, including the mountains and coast of its stunning national parks, the wealth of history and large number of imposing castles.
20 слайд
Bodnant Garden
A National Trust property, Bodnant Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Britain, created over many years by generations of the McLaren family. Highlights of the spectacular gardens are the grand formal terraces. This curved walk of about 50 yards is covered with laburnum, whose abundant, long blossoms cover it in cascades of yellow in late May and early June.
I love botanical gardens and so the first thing I`d go to watch them. I especially want to see The Laburnum Arch at the beginning of summer.
21 слайд
Brecon Beacons National Park
Brecon Beacons National Park is one of the most beautiful parts of Wales. This is bordered by two quite different sets of Black Mountains. The first, to the west, is the source of the River Usk, while to the east is the range famous for its wild ponies. Be sure to explore the park's many caves and waterfalls, especially Henrhyd Falls at Coelbren. I would like to see this hiker's paradise with ponies.
22 слайд
Anglesey
The Isle of Anglesey is home to a number of quaint, small fishing villages sprinkled along attractive coastline. There are sandy beaches, landmarks for going for a walk, seing great views and for some bird watching.
Finally, one of the world's most famous photo ops is on the railway platforms of the town with the world's longest place name:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllandysiliogogogoch.
23 слайд
And finally Portmeirion
Portmeirion is a beautiful hotel resort and visitor attraction on the coast of Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd. Portmeirion was designed to resemble a quaint Italian fishing village. Visitors staying overnight get the whole place to themselves once the gates are closed, when they can explore its beautiful gardens, fountains, church, and the coastal paths of the lower village.
