Ход урока.


I. Организационный момент:

a) Good morning, boys and girls! I'm glad to meet you! Let's begin our lesson now. Please look at the blackboard and tell me what the theme of our lesson is. Yes, you are right. During our lesson we are going to speak about home, types of homes; we are going to read, to do some exercises and practice our listening. But at first we have to choose the motto to our lesson.

Boys and girls, do you know any proverbs about home?

S1 “East or West home is best”

S2 “There is no place like home”

S2Home, sweet home”

Do you agree with it? Is home really the best place?

Good for you!

Let's sing our song which proves that. The song “Home is the nicest place to be”.

Well, I have one more statement. “Home where the heart is.” How do you think is it right? Where can we live? What types of homes do you know?

Let's revise all of them. Look at the blackboard, listen and repeat:

- What type of home would you like to live in?

- What type of home do you live in?

Very good. Types of homes you know well.


II. Let's check how well you know the names of the rooms in a flat.

a) at first work in groups make up the words.

b) complete the sentences using these pictures:

- We eat in the …

- We read books and keep our papers in the …

- We take off our coats in the …

- We wash hands and face in the …

III. Agree or disagree

  • We eat in the bedroom

  • I disagree with you. Because we eat in the dining room.

  • We sleep in the bathroom.

  • I disagree with you. Because we sleep in the bedroom.

  • We cook in the living room.

  • I disagree with you. Because we cook in the kitchen…

Very good.

IV. Are you tired, children? Let's have a rest then. Please stand up.

1,2,3,4 I'm standing on the floor.

1,2,3,4 He is going to the door.

1,2,3,4 You are washing the floor.

1,2,3,4 We are painting the door.

V. So, dear friends, I see you know the types of homes, the names of the rooms very well. I think it’s high time to speak about the furniture.

a) Look at the pictures and name the furniture;

b) Please ask each other about the furniture in your flats. Do it using the constructions there is / are.

c) Here's one more task for you. Work in groups and fill in the correct preposition. Take these sheets of paper and do it as quickly as you can.

d) And now work in pairs and make up short dialogues.

VI. Dear friends, look here! We’ve got a sound letter from Tom (“Tom's house”). But before listening to it I'll give you some cards. Match the sentences with there is / there are.

And now listen to the tape and tell where the objects in his house are.

So, Tom describes his flat very well. And you, can you describe your own flats? You can use your pictures.
