Theme: Rooms in my house.

Grade: 2 date: 18.02.15

Objectives:

educational:

  • Forming of the positive motivation to the English studying

  • Introduction of the new topical vocabulary

  • Activation of the grammar construction There is/are

  • Forming of the skills of vocabulary differentiation on semantic bases

  • Forming of reading skill- -(t)ch

Developing:

  • To develop the speaking skills, using the antonyms - big- small; old- new

  • To develop comparing, generalization and systematization;

  • To develop the culture of dialogue and monologue speech, sensor abilities, movements of small muscles through drawing, writing, games;

  • To develop self-assessment, estimation of their classmates work;

Upbringing:

  • To bring up the discipline, honesty, careful attitude to the home and school property;

  • To bring up the sense of self- dignity, capability of being glad to the classmates` success and be sorry for their faults;

The position of the lesson: the 2nd in the 5-hours theme.

The planned results(SWAT):

  • Subjective: to know and be able to use the active topical vocabulary of the lesson: living- room, bathroom, kitchen, sleep, dining room, bedroom, watch TV, welcome for description of a house/flat, to be able to use the construction There is/are, full and shortened form, positive and negative forms, to understand teacher`s instructions and the general content of the listened and read mini-text.

  • Personal: to be honest, kind to the classmates, teacher, society, to care about the property

  • System- activity: to use the material leant for making dialogues and monologues.

Type of lesson: mixed

  • PC and DVD “hooked on phonics, kindergarten level 1

  • Vocabulary cards

  • Slide presentation “My house”

Procedure of the lesson

1. Organization moment

Hello, my dear friends. Sit down, please.

Сегодня мы поговорим с вами о доме на английском языке, а для этого мы сначала подумаем какие слова нам для этого понадобятся( названия комнат). OK, let’s start our lesson.

2. Warm-up- DVD video “Hooked on phonics”, kindergarten level 1

3. Presentation of the new reading rule -(t)ch

Now you will read the words in your textbook at p. 51

and the sentences from the Phonics of the textbook.

4. Presentation and practice

a) the new topical words –pictures – Cambridge Dictionary 1 (home abc) pupils listen and repeat.

b) listening to the audio file #40

pupils listen and teacher pay their attention to the verbs, connected with the different rooms

c) Reading and checking up the understanding ex. 2, p.117

5. Energizer.

6. Fixing the knowledge and ways of action: Pupils work in their activity books, p. 46, ex.1, 2( writing after speaking them)
