The theme: “Customs and traditions in Kazakhstan.”
The aims of the lesson: 1. Give more information about Kazakhstan,
speak about its customs and traditions.
2. To develop pupils skills and habits in
reading, in monologue and dialogue
speech through asking, answering questions.
3. To bring them up the feeling of love and
responsibility to their motherland.
The type of the lesson: mixed
The methods of teaching: question-answer, practical work, individual work.
Visual aids: cards, pictures, a computer, a blackboard.
Subgects: History, Kazakh literature.
Epigraph: “Our banner is independence, our aim is peace and prosperity. In the world we have one Motherland. It is Kazakhstan” Nursultan Nazarbayev
Procedure of the lesson.
I. Organization moment.
-Good morning, comrades.
- Sit down, comrades.
- Be ready for the lesson.
- Who is on duty today?
- Who is absent?
- Sit down, please.
- Duty, what date is it today? - And what day is it today?
II. Checking up home task.
- What was your home task?
- Correct the sentences true (T) or false (F)
II. Conclusion of the home task:
- At the last lesson we have talked about sight of Almaty, its nature and nature reserve. To conclude those materials I want to ask you some questions.
· What squares are there in Almaty?
· What kinds of museums are there in Almaty?
· What do you know about Medeu?
· What do you know about Shymbulak?
· What can you say about Khan Tangri?
· What can you say about the river Ili?

IV. Introduction with the theme.
- I want to read you riddle. Try to guess it please.
- They are in every country. People of each country respect and save them. They come from generation to generation. What are they?
- You are quite right! Today we shall talk about our customs and traditions.
1) Warming – up:
- Now let’s warm up and remember proverbs. Match two parts. Repeat them after me, please. Can you give me equivalents in Kazakh language?

2) Brainstorming:
T: Before talking about traditions I want to ask you about our Motherland. What do you feel when you pronounce the word “Motherland”?
S: Motherland is the place where we born and grew up. And I’m happy to live here.
T: Why should people keep their traditions?
S: To know own traditions and customs it means to be patriots of the Motherland.
T: You are very right. Now thank you for your opinions.
V. Introduction with new words:

VI. Reading and speaking.
- Let’s read some information about them. Look at the board.
“Kazakh customs and traditions”
- The Kazakh peoples are rich in traditions. These traditions includes being respectful to old people; being patriotic to the motherland; being honest; and learning to love mankind. There are some main traditions like Weeding ceremony, Betashar, Hobbles cutting , Shildekhana. Kazakh traditional horse – sport games like Kokpar, Kyz Kuu, Audaryspak and other have always been very popular with Kazakhs. At present, they are played during national holidays and festivals. The Kazakh traditional costums is actually the dress of an ancient time. There are closes such as shapan, camisole, kebis, kimeshek, takhia, tymak and others. Kazakhs dressing them especially in Nauryz. I think we must respect and keep our traditions for next generation, because traditions tell and show us the life of our nation.
IV. Comprehension check.

- Kazakh traditions; Wedding ceremony, Betashar, Hobbles cutting.
- Traditional costumes; shapan, camisole, kebis, kimeshek, tymak and others.

- Traditional foods: Beshbarmak, Kuyrdak, Bauyrsak.
2) Project work.
T: Well, what do you see on the board? (Customs and traditions)
Some students has prepared presentation about “Betashar, tusau kesu, national costumes and national food ”. Are you ready? Who wants to start? Now let’s listen to them.

VI. Conclusion of the lesson.
