Дидактический сценарий урока английского языка

(10 класс)

Тема: Famous people in the world of culture

Цель: формирование коммуникативной компетенции учащихся в рамках обозначенной темы

Задачи:

ü    учить школьников полноценно пользоваться английским языком во всех видах речевой деятельности в разных сферах его применения;

ü    способствовать овладению учащимися основными способами мыслительной деятельности (выделение главного, анализ, обобщение);

ü    создать условия для активного взаимодействия, развития аналитического и критического мышления

Задачи для учащихся:

Ø    учиться составлять рассказ по образцу;

Ø    учиться высказывать свою точку зрения на английском языке;

Ø    учиться применять полученные знания на практике

Тип урока: комбинированный урок

Методы: коммуникативный, интерактивный

Оснащение урока: раздаточный и иллюстративный материал, презентация, мультимедийный проектор.

Прогнозируемый результат: к концу урока учащиеся смогут рассказать о фактах из жизни известных людей Беларуси и Великобритании

I. Warming-up (3 min)

Good morning! I’m glad to see you and hope you are ready to start working. You look great today, just ready for making pictures. By the way, I have some pictures to show you too. (слайд 1) Look at these pictures, do you know these people? What are their names? What are they famous for? (слайд 2)

II. Actualization of personal experience. Checking homework (3 min)                                                                                  ( слад 3) Speech practice ( in pairs)

Now I `d like you S(A) to stand up. Come here, I have several cards for you, take one. You will work in pairs with your shoulder partners.  Your home task was to make a list of questions for an interview with a famous person. Use these questions and role-play the dialogues between a famous person and the interviewer. You have 2 min (слайд 4-7)

III. Announcement of the topic and the necessity to study it (3 min)

(слайд 8) Look at these pictures, do you know these people? What do you know about them? What do they have in common? (famous )Can we say that they are famous?   What do you think  the topic of our lesson today is…( famous people)

Ok, but in what sphere they are famous? (art or culture)

Yes,  that`s why….. The topic of our lesson today is …. Good!!! (слай9)

Aim:  develop Ss speaking skills (telling about famous people) (слайд 10)

What can we do to achieve this aim?  (слайд 10) Look at the screen.

¢    Practice in pronounciation;

¢    Practice to use the active  vocabulary;

¢    Read about famous people;

¢    Listen about their biography and career;

¢    Talk about famous and successful people

T: ( слайд 11) Can you say that all these people are famous and successful?    How did they get  fame and success? Maybe,  it’s really difficult to answer these questions for you now. Let’s try to analyze  the experience of these people and maybe, you can answer these quistions during our lesson.   today I propose you to speak about these

IV. Vocabulary Practice

Speaking about famous people, we`ll have to use special words and expressions adjectives verbs and nouns.. Let`s practise them. Look at your Pupils` sheets (Attachment 1, ex.1). Divide the words into 3 groups. You have 2 minutes.

Let`s check, who is ready?  ( check the task with the help of a board)   I hope these words will be useful for you during the lesson. (слайд 12)

V.               Reading (5 min) (Attachment 1, ex.2)

Pre-reading

(слайд 13) Look at the screen. The first lady we are going to speak about is ……Beyonce. What do you know about her?

Reading

This is a text about her. Let`s read it and do the first task. Read quickly the text about Beyonce. Then match a title to each paragraph. You have 3 minutes  Why this title suits this paragraph?

After-reading

-   Now let`s see how attentive you were while reading. Listen to the statements about Beyonce and say they are true (T) or false (F).

Look at the screen again. The next people we are going to speak about will be…. You will work in pairs with your face partners.  Each of you got two texts, one is about C Chaplin, the other one is about A Christie.  In one of these texts you’ ve got the missing information. You task is to ask and answer questions to find the missing information. You have 3 minutes. Work in pairs with your face partners, please.

-   What do you know about J Lennon?

By the way, J Lennon achieved his fame not only as one of the Beatles.

Now you will work at the computers. Your task is to listen to about J. Lennon and fill the missing information.

While watching

-   While listening try to focus on the information about his fame and popularity.

After watching

Discussion

Let’s share what you have known about J Lennon (students represent the information in turn)

-   How did he become popular?

-   Where did he achieve fame?

-   Can we say that Lennon is  famous and successful?

-   Can we say that he is a real pride of his country? Why?

VIII. Summary (10 min) (слайд 19)

Now choose one of these famous and successful people and Try to tell about him or her using this plan and the expressions you have in your pupils` sheet (Attachment 1 Pupils` Sheet Ex. 2)  You have 2 min to think. Who wants to start?

Now your hometask. At home you will work with side www.famouspeoplelessons.com  You`ll read and listen a text about any famous  person and to tell about him or her using this plan and the expressions you have in your pupils` sheet
