Good afternoon witches, devils, vampires and other devil spirits! Keep quiet and keep your ears open so that everybody can hear a bat flying, a leaf falling down from a tree or a mouse rustling in the dry grass.  Welcome to our Halloween party!

POEM

‘It’s Halloween‘

It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full & bright.
And we will see what can’t be seen
on any other night.
Skeletons & ghosts & ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks & gowns we haunt the street
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king & queen
for all tonight.  It’s Halloween!

THE WITCHES’ DANCING (танец ведьм)

Ведущий:  Halloween is a festival that takes place on October 31.  This day was originally called All Hallow’s Eve because it fell on the eve of All Saints’ Day.  According to old beliefs Halloween is the time, when the veil between the living & the dead is lifted, & witches, ghosts & other supernatural beings appear.
Many Halloween customs are based on beliefs of the ancient Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in what is now Great Britain, Ireland & Northern France.  Every year the Celts celebrated the Druid festival of Samhain, Lord of the Dead & the Prince of Darkness.  It fell on October 31, the eve of the Druid New year.  The Celts believed that on this night Samhain allowed the souls of the dead to return to their homes as witches, goblins, black cats or in other weird form.  It was believed that evil spirits played tricks on October 31.
Now children dress up as ghosts & witches, go from house to house and say:
Trick or treat, smell our feet.
We want something good to eat.

Ведущий: A favorite custom is to make a jack-o’-lantern.  According to an Irish legend, jack-o’-lanterns were named for a man called Jack who was famous for his drunkenness & being stingy.  He played a joke on the Devil, that’s why he could enter neither heaven nor hell, & only a live coal in a turnip lit his way out of the darkness.

Halloween, Halloween
Creepy, crawly Halloween
Trick or treat all in fun,
October 31st has come

Halloween, Halloween
Spooky, kooky Halloween
Kids in costumes, what a sight
On Halloween tonight

Big black cats
Vampire bats
Ghosts and goblins out tonight
Causing quite a fright

Halloween, Halloween
Painted faces, what a scene
Door to door
They trick or treat
For something sweet to eat

Halloween, Halloween
Celebrating Halloween
Jack-o'-lanterns all aglow
So the ancient stories go

Halloween, Halloween
Celtics started Halloween
They celebrated harvest time
With gifts of food and wine

Candles glow
Spirits go
Bringing luck and fortune too
This is what they knew

Halloween, Halloween
Now they call it Halloween
Skulls and bones
Create the scene
Very scary Halloween

Halloween, Halloween
Let's have fun on Halloween
Witches fly
And children scream
Tonight on Halloween

Witches fly
And children scream
Tonight on Halloween!

S2: Our plane leaves for Canada. What do you know about this country?

(короткое видео про канаду на англ)

  _________________________5 б класс______________

Mother's Day is a time of celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and saying "I Love You."During the 17th century, those living on the British isles initiated a religious celebration of motherhood, called Mothering Sunday, which was held on the forth Sunday during the Lenten season.

When is Mother's Day? Mother’s Day is celebrated by Canadians on the second Sunday in May.

In North American country of Canada, Mothers Day is a the most popular festival after Christmas and Valentines Day. Just as in USA, Mothers Day in Canada is celebrated in the second Sunday in the month of May. People pay tribute to their mothers on the day and thank them for their constant support and love. In Canada, cards and flowers are the most commonly used methods of expressing love for moms.

As Mothers Day is a festival with strong emotional value, it has been commercialised to a large extent with compelling advertising strategies in the technologically advanced country of Canada. Sale of cards breaks all records on mothers day. Many people also take their mothers out for a dinner on Mothers Day and bake special cakes for them. Mothers are also pampered with gifts and day off from kitchen by their loving children.

Caring children make it a point to greet Mothers Day to their own moms, grand mothers and to women who are like their mothers. Those staying away from their mothers visit them and make them feel special. While those who cannot pay a visit call on phone. No wonder, phone traffic is highest on the occasion of Mothers Day.

M - O - T - H - E - R

"M" is for the million things she gave me,

"O" means only that she's growing old,

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;

"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,

"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.

In Mother’s Day people in the family try to help her. On that day they visit their mothers, cook holiday supper and give them presents and “A Mother’s Day Card”

The day before his birthday
the baby said to God:
– I don’t know wherefore I’m going to this world…
How will I live there?
I am so small and helpless…
God answered: “I’ll give you an angel…
who will be waiting for you
and take care of you.
– But what shall I do on Earth?
Here I am smiling and laughing,
It’s all I need for my happiness.
Your angel will smile for you.
You will feel his love.
and you will be happy .
– But how will I understand him?
I don’t know the language
he’s speaking
– Your angel will teach you
his language
– He will jealously watch over you
and sain you
– When should I come back to you, God?
– Your angel will tell you everything.
– What’s the name of my angel?
– His name is not an important thing.
– He will have a lot of different names
– But you will call  him MOTHER

: I love my mommy, I love my mommy (point to mommy) I love my mommy,

Yes, I do (shake head for yes)

Here’s a kiss and a hug for you (blow a kiss and wrap arms around yourself)

Thank you mommy for all you do! (bow or curtsy)

Happy Mother’s day Happy Mother’s day I love you! (make heart shape with fingers)

I love my mommy, I love my mommy I love my mommy,

 Yes, I do

Here’s a kiss and a hug for you

Thank you mommy for all you do!

Happy Mother’s day Happy Mother’s day I love you!

Good work!

B1: - Christmas and New Year are the most favorite holidays of English children. People in Britain celebrate Christmas on the 25 of December- a week before the New Year. And today we are going to show you how children in England celebrate these holidays.

The beginning of a new year is a time for celebrating and for making a new start. On New Year`s Eve many people go to parties with their families, neighbours and friends. In London people gather to celebrate in Trafalgar Square. From there they can hear Big Ben, the large clock at the Houses of Parliament.

В2: - When Big Ban strikes, people all hug and kiss each other and shout "Happy New Year". But young people go out and meet their friends at parties, discos and different clubs. But little children are waiting for Santa Claus. They believe that while they are sleeping he comes to visit them. He is a kind old man in red clothes with a big sack of toys. He put sweets and small toys in the children`s stockings.

В1: - Some people ignore it completely and go to bed at usual time. Others, however, do celebrate it in one way or another. The most common type of celebration is a New Year party.

There is a funny tradition connected with the New Year: the 1st Foot. This is the 1st visitor to enter a house on NY`s morning. He is a person of great importance. The 1st Foot must be a man because it is believed that if a woman 1st sets foot in the house, bad luck will follow throughout the year. Traditionally, the 1st visitor of the year must carry food, drink and coal into the house. Coal helps to make a fire in midwinter and there shall never be lack of food and drink during the coming year.

под музыку “Here comes Santa Claus” приходит Санта)

Santa Claus: - Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Were you good and obedient children this year?

Very well! I know you learnt songs and poems for me. And certainly, there will be presents for you!

Santa Claus is very old

Santa Claus is land is cold.

In his sleigh with to reindeer

He brings presents every year.

Уч3

Merry, Merry Christmas

Is likely to come

Merry, Merry Cgristmas

You are welcome!

Уч4

Snow in the window,

Much confetti

Bright-blue red and yellow

Light on the tree

Уч5

Smiling eyes and faces,

Sweet music in the hall.

I think someone places

Happiness here for all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Is likely to come.

Do you like to sing songs? Do you know a traditional English song about my friend?

Rudolf, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolf
play in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee:
"Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!"

Let us sing my favourite song «We wish you a Merry Christmas»!

Thank you very much. We wish you

– New things to learn

Winter: – New friends to meet

Little star:  New songs to sing

Father Frost: – New books to read

Winter: – New things to see

Little star: – New things to hear

Little star, Farther Frost, Winter: – New things to do in this happy new year!

Звук взлетающего самолета.

Australia is a wonderful country with people from different parts of the world. So, Easter is celebrated in a variety of ways.

The main day of celebration of families of Anglo-Irish backgrounds is Easter Sunday. Some people go to church services and have hot cross buns for breakfast. These are a sweet fruit bun, which may have a cross on top. Children exchange Easter eggs, which are usually made of chocolate. Some are now made from sugar and have little toys inside.

Many families arrange for an Easter hunt in their homes or gardens to see who can find the most eggs on Easter Sunday morning. They then share a meal with their relatives. Traditionally this has consisted of roast lamb, beef or chicken with roasted vegetables like potatoes, carrots, pumpkin

Kids and adult both love Easter season because of colorful eggs, fun games, and great bunny songs. Here are some of the fun Easter bunny songs for kids that they will surely love to sing, from the lesser known tunes The Easter Bunny is Coming to well known Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Here Comes Peter Cottontail is one of the most popular Easter bunny songs for children. It is a classic Easter song that has inspired a lot of children because of the song catchy tune and funny lyrics.

 “Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way.

Bringin’ every girl and boy

Baskets full of Easter joy,

Things to make your Easter bright and gay.

He’s got jelly beans for Tommy,

Colored eggs for sister Sue,

There’s an orchid for your Mommy

And an Easter bonnet, too.
Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Look at him stop, and listen to him say:

“Try to do the things you should.”

 Maybe if you’re extra good,

He’ll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning

And you’ll know that he was there

When you find those choc’late bunnies

That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning

And you’ll know that he was there

When you find those choc’late bunnies

That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.
