Welcome to my native land, in Tula area. In my region there are a lot of different historical sights. But I`d like to tell you about L. N. Tolstoy's estate "Yasnaya Polyana". The great writer Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy spent the most part of his life there. "I can`t imagine Russia and my attitude towards it without Yasnaya Polyana " he wrote.

Two white stone towers have become a symbol of Yasnaya Polyana. The writer's grandfather put them here.

The lower park is connected with the writer's mother. It was a favourite place of her walks. There was her favourite arbor tower on columns.

Leaving to the left "Preshpekt" it is expensive between estate gardens, brings us to a one-storeyed white stone building with an attic - Volkonsky's house. It is built by the writer's grandfather.

There are a number of outbuildings: stables, carriage house, a farmyard, a coachman, a garden house, zhitnyaya, riga.

Tolstoy was interested in gardening, cultivation of pigs, horse breeding and beekeeping, forestry, and agriculture.

The path leads us to Kuzminsky' wing. In 1859 Tolstoy opened a school for country children here. Along with this school Tolstoy organized more than ten schools in neighboring villages.

Tolstoy's house. In 1892 the big terrace was attached and here a family and Tolstoy's guests had dinner and tea.

In 1889 north of Chepyzha firtrees appeared. The writer treated this place with special feeling, there was his favourite bench.

One of most picturesque places of the estate is a valley of "Prudnishche" and a road leading to the river Voronka.

The Voronka proceeds through the biggest and beautiful Kalinov meadow,one of most favourite places of the writer. He described it in his novel “ Anna Karenina”

Tolstoy perfectly knew his estate and got great pleasure from it nature.
He thanks Yasnaya Polyana for his best thoughts and the best moments of his soul.
