Animals

Aims:

educational: to talk about animals, to introduce with new words, to get new information about the animals, to widen pupils’ vocabulary, to wake up their feelings of love to the nature.

Developing: to develop pupil’s reading, speaking, thinking skills, to consolidate the learned materials, to develop predicting, proposing and understanding habits, constructing and thinking, ability to appraise situation.

Brining – up: to bring up pupil’s interest, respect and love to foreign and native language

The methods of the lesson: a game, question- answer

The type of the lesson: competition

The visual aids: the active- board, pictures of animals

Inter- subject connection: geography, music

Procedure of the lesson.

  1. Organization moment

  2. Teacher:

Good afternoon, dear guests, teachers and pupils! Today we will show you our knowledge. Now we will sing songs, show plays and read poems about animals. Today we'll have a competition. Two teams will take part in our competition. At first let’s choose captains of every groups. 1st team- Rabbits, 2nd team- Tigers. Our lesson will be as competition, for every right answer, I’ll give you the shapes and at the end of our lesson you must count the shapes.

Teacher: Our planet is full of wonders.

Our planet is home to a vast collection of animals. They live everywhere. Animals are all around us, so it is easy to think that we know exactly what animals are. But some animals have fur or feathers, others have shells or scales, while many have no hard body parts at all. Animals often have eyes, ears and legs.

Firstly, animals’ bodies are made of lots of cells. These cells work together, like a team. Secondly unlike plants animals need to eat. Animals are also the only living things that have muscles and nerves. Animals with complicated nervous systems, such as mammals and birds, react more quickly than any other living things. Such animals as a tiger, black rhino and giant panda are now so rare that they are endangered. In just 10 or 20 years’ time , the only place to see them may be in zoos. People collect animals as pets, and hunt them for food and for ‘fun’. They destroy their habitats, leaving the animals with nowhere to live. People often kill birds and animals for their beautiful skins and further We must look after the animals we have left, before it is too late. Animals give us meat, milk and wool, and leather.

It's high time to begin our competition. We wish all the participants. “Good luck!”

Teacher: Let’s begin our competition.

  1. Introduce yourselves

Each team must introduce yourselves. (name of the team and song of the team)

  1. Baiga

Questions:

  1. What animals live in the tropical forests? (frog, monkey, snakes)

  2. What animals live in the desert?(snakes, camels)

  3. Where do elephants come from? (India)

  4. What colour is the polar bear? (brown)

  5. What domestic animals do you know? (cat, dog, cow, camel)

  6. Where do lions come from? (Africa)

  7. Where do monkeys live? (in the forest)



3.Guess the animals

The 1st team – to write the words in correct order.

Gerit – tiger

Lemca- camel

Birbat- rabbit

Mekyno- monkey

The 2nd team – to write the words in correct order.

Naske – snake

Osreh- horse

Torpra- parrot

Erba- bear

4.Poems about animals ( To read poems about animals.)

-And now let’s listen poems about animals in the Zoo.

The Monkeys

Visitors of all ages But you must remember too,

Like to laugh near these cages. That the monkeys laugh at you.

The Bear

The day is hot, the sun is bright, He likes icebergs, we have none.

I see the bear, he is white, I like the bear, he is nice,

He does not like the hot sun, Shall I buy for him an ice?

The Kangaroo

All the babies in the Zoo You can only see his head,

Envy little Kangaroo, Mother’s bag is baby’s bed.

The Lions

This little lion went to market, This little lion had none,

This little lion stayed at home And this little lion cried,

This little lion had roast beef, I can’t find my way home

The Elephant

The elephant has got a son, But I am simply at a loss,

A little boy, a small one, This child is bigger than a horse.

The Hippos

There is little hippo He catches the mosquito

He swims in the pond, But he cannot catch me!

The Camel

The camel’s looking so sad, And you again have brought some ice,

A week has passed since last he ate. Though you already had it twice!

The Cockatoo

I wonder, have you ever heard, He sleeps and eats and talks again.

A cockatoo? He is talking bird, But he is dreaming of warm seas,

He says “a fool” to any man, Of palm and some up known trees.

The 1st team -Way Head. 3b. Click on the correct answers.

The 2nd team -19a. Fill in the gaps.

  3. I’m a bird. I’m green and yellow colour. I can talk with people. (parrot)

  5. I’m a domestic animal. I give people milk and meat. (cow)

  6. I can run fast. I’m a friend of people. (a dog)

Now children count your shapes.
