I am crazy about the movies. For me, this is an accessible and popular form of art. I believe that going to the cinema is one of the best ways to spend your free time. In my opinion, films expand our knowledge about people, about the world where we live. I think that taste is formed through watching films. Each of us has his own favorite movie genre: thriller, musical, drama, comedy. I like serious films that touch upon the core problems of our lives.

If I were a director of the film I would shoot a feature drama film……..

The action takes place in a small and a quiet town of Asheville, Northern Carolina, situated in the center of the Blue Ridge.

It started when the blind man Phil was visiting the local hospital to see his teacher and a friend Peter. The further action is built on the flashbacks, telling about their friendly relationship.

Phil was six years old when he got into a car accident, as a result of which he lost his parents. Phil miraculously remains alive, but completely loses his sight. A six-year-old child is unable to cope with the psychological and physical trouble suffered, the world ceases to exist for him. Phil goes to a boarding school for the disabled. He is completely closed and becomes uncontrollable.

Fate brings Phil to Peter, a lonely old man who spends the rest of his life in a nursing home. Peter had everything that makes a person happy – family and children, but, as often happens, children grow up and forget about their elderly parents as an unnecessary temple that has no place in their life.

There is nothing accidental in this world. And these two did not meet by chance. Desperate people: a blind six-years-old child and a lonely old man who no one needs. Who are they for each other? Nobody, but strangers. But they are the strangers who become soul mates.

Phil and Peter meet for a walk every day, coming to the same bench. Phil is silent all the time, and Peter speaks, talks about nothing and at the same time about everything: about what a beautiful park they walk, about a swan floating in the pond. Peter becomes the eyes of   Phil. Interest in life gradually returns to Phil and he asks the first question: Peter, why are you here? And Peter tells about his family, about which so far he had never told anyone.

Peter teaches Phil to read in Braille, discovering the fascinating world of travel and science fiction, and to communicate with others using a tactile language. Phil achieves certain success in training and begins to feel confident in this world. Phil asks Peter to consider himself his grandson and loves his granddad very much.

Many years later, Phil graduates from a school for the blind and tries to earn a bachelor's degree in humanities. At the same time, Peter is beginning to show signs of Alzheimer's. When his memory fails, he is put in a psychiatric clinic. Now the TEACHER and the PUPIL are changing roles, and Phil is already teaching Peter to understand the world around him.

The finale shows how many people dressed in black carry the coffin to the church. An off-screen voice reads a letter from Phil addressed to all the desperate people, in which he says that Peter has become his REVELATION.

Phil (as a child) – Jacob Tremblay. The young actor Jacob Tremblay, who already played the role of a child with a difficult fate (a child with physical disabilities), who managed to overcome all the difficulties in the film “Miracle,” was chosen to play the role of little Phil.

His timid smile and touching look as a faun in the 2005 film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” captivated the audience, and the restraint and intelligence of the image of the actor determined my choice.

The legendary actor Robert de Niro was chosen to play the role of Teacher and mentor of young Phil, whose vast acting experience will make it possible to embody on the screen the image of a lonely old man wise in life experience who gives the meaning of life to a little blind boy.
