Слайд 1 Wales is a part of the United
Kingdom. It is surrounded by
water on three sides: to the north by the Irish Sea; to the south by the
Bristol Channel; and to the west by Saint George's Channel and Cardigan Bay.

mountains and wide valleys (долины). It's an ideal place for spending your holidays.

3 Just over 3 million people live in Wales. The two official languages are
Welsh and English.

capital of Wales in 1955.

is festivals. The Welsh sing their songs and wear their traditional clothes .

Eisteddfod [ais'teSvad] in Welsh), which was held to find the best poets,
writers and musicians in the country.

of Wales. He was a monk who lived on bread, water, herbs and leeks and died on
March 1, in 589 A. D.

green. It is believed the red dragon represents ancient warriors. Green and
white stripes represent
