Would you like a cup of tea?
5. People from around the world often wonder why the English always drink milk with their tea. The answer is that in the 17th and 18th centuries the china cups tea was served in were so delicate they would crack from the heat of the tea. Milk was added to cool the liquid and stop the cups from cracking. This is why, even today, many English people add milk to their cups BEFORE adding the tea!

What colour are the London’s black cabs? London’s black cabs and their drivers are world famous. Not only are the drivers licensed by the Public Carriage Office only after a grueling test of their mastery of the Knowledge—the whereabouts of every street within a 6-mile radius of Charing Cross, plus the locations of many public buildings and sites of interest—but the taxicabs themselves are distinctive: big, boxy, and black.

It is not known when the ravens first came to the Tower of London, but their presence there is surrounded by myth and legend. Unusually for birds of ill omen, the future of both Country and Kingdom relies upon their continued residence, for according to legend, at least six ravens must remain lest both Tower and Monarchy fall.
