  FOUNDATION OF THE MILITARY-PATRIOTIC MUSEUM «SHIELD AND SWORD»
  In February 2014 our military-patriotic organization «Shield and Sword» with the support of the administration of Moscow Police College made a decision to create the Museum of Memory of World War II.

  SEARCH WORKS IN THE VILLAGE OF NOVORAKOVO
  The main event for our cadets was search works in the village of Novorakovo in Istrinsky district of the Moscow region, where fierce battles took place during the war.

  On December 3, 2015, the solemn ceremony was held in the village of Buzharovo to rebury of the remains of two Red Army soldiers who died in November 1941, defending the eastern shore of the Istrin Reservoir. Our cadets took part in the ceremony.
  The Government and the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin awarded students of our college with the Commemorative Medal for the participation.

  The first showcase presents the soldiers’ personal belongings.The latest letterwas found in the purse of one of the fighters, which is an important artifact for the museum. Our students managed to decipher only a small piece of the letter.

  A lot of items were found for the museum during the excavations.

  THE MUSEUM WAS CREATED WITH GREAT LOVE
  College staff and students have collected information about their relatives involved in the war, which we have recorded in our Memory Book and we still continue to replenish it.

  The following stand shows samples of equipment of the Soviet and German troops which brought to us by co-workers.

  GERMAN EQUIPMENT
  Pay attention to the German equipment: an identification tag, special flash lights, a tube of toothpaste, even canned goods, etc. Also you can see the big object, which looks like as a thermos. Fascist soldiers warn it as a gas mask, but later they used it to boil water.

  THE MUSEUM HAS MORE ABOUT 250 ARTIFACTS
  Exhibits in the museum are divided into several sections:
  Items of wartime of the Great Patriotic War;
  Country house;
  Dugout;
  Soldier's halt;
  Soldier's letters;
  Soldier's awards;
  World War II newspapers;
  Rifle gallery.

  EXPOSITION OF THE VILLAGE HOUSE
  In the second room on the left you can see the props of the village house, where a woman was waiting for a letter from her son. Here you can find one of the most important artifacts of the 19th century - samovar that was an attribute of every Russian house. It is standing on a table with two faceted glasses and a doll. There's a kerosene lamp. The wall of the decoration is made of logs, a portrait of a Soviet soldier hangs on it.

  There are several more unique exhibits in the 2nd small hall. For example the iron tongs. The Soviet people saved their buildings from falling bombs and arsons of roofs with the help of them. These tools were brought by Yevgeny Petrovich Prokhorov, a resident of Pokrovskiy - Streshnev district.

  Now, dear guests, please focus your attention on the model of the dugout. There is a table inside it, a stove, a holster of a pistol named Tula Tokarev, a newspaper of the USSR, a tablet bag, an iron flask, 5 or 6 rounds of ammunition and a helmet. This is the hideout where our commanders were developing military operations.

  When you look at this corner, it is easy to imagine a real soldier’s halt where tired and exhausted fighters could sit and warm up near the fire. During the soldiers’ rest break they wrote letters close relatives and loved people or just relaxed and gained energy.
  
  Next to the fire there are two stumps, soldier's bags, personal things and a bayan of the time for singing, dancing and distracting soldiers from the horrors of the war.
