Hello, we are glad to see you in our gymnasium. Today we are going to tell you about its long history and to recur to the legendary past of our school.

This year our school has been celebrating one 100 years since its foundation.

The school was established in 1917.

To learn the history of the school we worked in 3 archives in Volgograd and we received important information from the State archive of the Russian Federation in Moscow.

In these archives we found the unique documents about the establishing of our school in 1917 year.

The first step of our research was learning of the school museums materials, where there are 42 albums, 28 videos, 15 expositions with personal documents and belongings of the graduates and the teachers of our school.

Many documents in the school museum were collected in 1997. It was the year of the 80th anniversary. Teachers, students, their parents, the administration collected materials, photos, arranged meetings, recorded reminiscences of teachers-veterans, graduates of different years. In our research, we relied on the albums dedicated to the graduates from 1917 to 1957 years. At our disposal there were 150 photographs, letters, copies of newspaper articles, memories of the graduates, the teachers, the principles.

Learning the documents of the State archive of the Volgograd region and the Centre of documentation of the newest history of our region helped us to follow the stages of our educational institutions as the Soviet school in the context of major historical events of the 20 century.

At our request, we received information on cases of repression against the headmistress of the school worked in 1935-1936, Its Eлизавета Петровна. We got the photo from the archive of the Federal Security Service of the Volgograd region.

Our request to the State archive of the Russian Federation has provided us with unique documents about the founding of the school, introducing Stalingrad school № 9 in the title list of exemplary (top) schools of the country.

In 1917, our city was called Tsaritsyn, the name meant "yellow Sand". The city was beautiful. Our school was established in Tsaritsyn. Unfortunately we have no photos of the school at the time, but there are pictures of Tsaritsyn and the unique documentary footage about the town and children.
