  Liverpool is a city in the west of Great Britain, the capital of the county of Merseyside. It is one of the main British ports, known for its culture, music, football and numerous pubs. Liverpool is a big, dynamic city, which is the birthplace of the legendary band The Beatles and has a delightful rock and roll atmosphere. This is the heart of Merseyside with one of the world's largest harbors, which is one of the centers of transatlantic shipping. Modern Liverpool is a major shopping, educational and financial center, as well as a popular tourist destination.
