World over water crisis takes many shapes
It is not a false proverb that Water is life! As without water, life will become non-existent. Around a billion people today, that is one in every seven people on earth, don’t have access to safe drinking water. According to the UN, in the past century, water use has grown at over twice the rate of population increase. By 2025, an estimated 1.8 billion people will be living in areas hit by water scarcity. And, two in every three persons on this planet will be living in regions classified as ‘water-stressed.’

GLOBAL WARMING
Global warming is the unusually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature over the past century primarily due to the greenhouse gases released by people burning fossil fuels.
Global warming fast facts
Carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are at 406.5 ppm as of 2017, their highest levels in 650,000 years.
Average global temperature is up 1.7 degrees F (0.94 degrees C) since 1880.
The minimum expanse of Arctic summer sea ice has declined 13.3 percent per decade since the 1980s.
Land ice has declined at the poles by 286 gigatons a year since 2002.
Global sea level has risen 7 inches (176 millimeters) in the past century.

Greenhouse Effect
The ‘greenhouse effect’ is an atmospheric heating phenomenon in which the Earth experiences rise in temperature because certain gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane) in the atmosphere allow incoming sunlight to pass through but trap heat radiated from the earth’s surface. If these gases wouldn’t trap heat in the atmosphere, the temperature of the earth would be about 33 degrees centigrade colder on average. Because how these gases warm our planet, they are called as greenhouse gases and the effect they create in the atmosphere is called as greenhouse effect.

Deforestation
Deforestation means the felling and clearing of forest cover or tree plantations in order to accommodate agricultural, industrial or urban use. It involves permanent end of forest cover to make that land available for residential, commercial or industrial purpose. Over the last century the forest cover around the globe has been greatly compromised, leaving the green cover down to an all time low of about 30 per cent. According to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), an estimated 18 million acres (7.3 million hectares) of forest are lost every year.

The Process of recovering of Fossil Fuel
Burning fossil fuels provides the energy we need but in the process releases harmful emissions into the atmosphere that are both pollutants and toxic to animals and plants. Some of these emissions are responsible for global climate change, the greenhouse effect and for changing some of the Earth’s delicate eco-systems. But there are advantages in burning fossil fuels, we get heat and energy as well as powering our transportation systems and it is fossil fuel energy that is driving our world.

Temperature Changes
The Earth temperature is increasing and different changes are going on while burning natural gas, coal and oil many factories produce long lasting gases. Greenhouse gases amount increase due to these factors. Nowadays these gases absorb more heat. This is what cause rise of temperature inducing and in the end global warm up.
10 слайд
The rise in sea levels is linked to three primary factors, all induced by this ongoing global climate change:
Thermal Expansion: When water heats up, it expands. About half of the past century's rise in sea level is attributable to warmer oceans simply occupying more space.
Melting Glaciers and Polar Ice Caps: Large ice formations, like glaciers and the polar ice caps, naturally melt back a bit each summer. In the winter, snows, primarily from evaporated seawater, are generally sufficient to balance out the melting.
Ice Loss from Greenland and West Antarctica: As with the glaciers and ice caps, increased heat is causing the massive ice sheets that cover Greenland and Antarctica to melt at an accelerated pace.

Air Pollution
SMOG HANGING OVER cities is the most familiar and obvious form of air pollution. But there are different kinds of pollution—some visible, some invisible—that contribute to global warming. Generally any substance that people introduce into the atmosphere that has damaging effects on living things and the environment is considered air pollution.
12 слайд
Poverty, the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. Poverty is said to exist when people lack the means to satisfy their basic needs. In this context, the identification of poor people first requires a determination of what constitutes basic needs. These may be defined as narrowly as “those necessary for survival” or as broadly as “those reflecting the prevailing standard of living in the community.”
Poverty
13 слайд
Our environment is constantly changing. However, as our environment changes, so does the need to become increasingly aware of the problems that surround it. With a massive influx of natural disasters, warming and cooling periods, different types of weather patterns and much more, people need to be aware of what types of environmental problems our planet is facing. If humans continue moving forward in such a harmful way towards the future, then there will be no future to consider. By raising awareness in your local community and within your families about these issues, you can help contribute to a more environmentally conscious and friendly place for you to live.
Don’t forget that WE LIVE ON A VERY FRAGILE PLANET!
