  The weekend
  Many people in Britain work five days a week, from Monday to Friday. From Friday evening till Monday morning people are usually free. When Friday comes English people usually know where and how they are going to spend the weekends. Before they leave work they say to each other, “Have a nice weekend! Have fun!”
  Very many people plan to go away for the weekend. If young people are away from home they may go home to stay with their relatives or friends in different parts of the country. Some people go to the seaside and stay at a hotel there. Some people like to travel by plane or by train. Many families go to the seaside by car, as it is very comfortable and rather cheap.
  Billy does much in his home zoo at the weekends. He feeds his animals. Billy gives water to them. He likes his hamster and cleans its cage. He walks his dog. His favourite animal is the turtle. Last Saturday Mr. Claydon and his son Billy had trip to London. They travelled to London by train. London is green city. There are many parks in London. The biggest parks are: Hyde Park, St. James’s Park and Regent’s Park. London’s famous Zoo is in Regent’s Park. Mr. Claydon and his son Billy went to the London Zoo, one of the biggest zoo in the world. In the Zoo there were animals and birds from different countries and continents. Billy and his father saw crocodiles and monkeys, elephants and giraffes, lions and tigers, white bears and brown bears and a lot of other animals. They saw many different birds too. They could see little birds and big birds. Billy liked the monkeys. They were funny. They jumped, run, played and made funny faces. Billy watched a lion cub. It was beautiful. It was interesting to watch white bears. They were so big. They swam very well. Mr. Claydon and Billy enjoyed visiting the Zoo. In Regent’s Park they did lots of things: played football, rode horses, watched duck. Billy liked his weekends very much.
