  «Alphabet »
  Russian alphabet, as well as the writing system of 42 languages of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, is based on the Old-Slavonic writing system,  which was founded in the IX century BC by two Greek monks — brothers Cyril (Konstantinos) and Methodius for translating ancient Greek religious literature to the Slavonic language. As the Christianity came to the ancient Rus in the X century, the Cyrillic alphabet was adopted by great prince Vladimir the Great as a writing system of the Orthodox Church and, generally speaking, the whole state. Ancient Slavonic alphabet (widely known as the Cyrillic script or azbuka) originally contained 43 letters. The most part of them was borrowed from the Greek alphabet, some letters were Hebrew and a few of them was created by the brothers themselves. During it’s one thousand years history, the Cyrillic alphabet has been constantly simplifying, and after the last big orphografical reform of Russian in 1917-1918 it contains 33 letters.

  «Baikal»
  The Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, possessing unique features, and the largest reservoir of fresh water on the planet. It has no equal in the world by age, depth, volume and properties of fresh water, diversity and endemism of organic life. Since ancient times it is called the sacred sea, nice, gray and menacing.   The Russian flag is sometimes called the IMPERIAL FLAG. It consists of three equal stripes of white, blue and red. The first flag of this design appeared more than 300 years ago. On 21 August 1991,the flag was officially adopted by the Russian President and the Russian Parliament.

  Ilya Repin was born in the small Ukrainian town of Chuguevo and as a child appeared to have a gift for painting. Local icon painters gave him some art lessons. Helping his teachers, Repin earned enough money to go to St. Petersburg to enter a painting school there, and then eventually the Academy of Fine Arts.   The Juno and the Avos are the ships on which Count Nikolai Rezanov and his team sailed to San Francisco ,the USA to establish trade relations with the colonists in 1806. There he met the daughter of the governor of San Francisco Conchitta, they fell in love with each other and got engaged. But Rezanov had to leave for St Petersburg, promised to return but never did because he died on his way to St Peresburg. Conchitta waited for him for 37 years.   «Khokhloma»
  Khokhloma painting is bright and unique phenomenon of Russian decorative and applied art. This traditional artistic craft appeared in the XVII century in Novgorod province and it got its name from the large trading village of Khokhloma. It is one of the oldest and unique Russian folk crafts, for centuries, forming a real life for generations and is an integral part of Russian culture. The peculiarity of Khokhloma craft is production of gilded wooden tableware without the use of precious metal and a kind of grass-like painting. The symbol of Khokhloma painting became a Firebird with bright colours.

Название темы: Мультимедийная мини-энциклопедия «Russia: from A to Z»

1.     Актуальность проекта. Эта тема была выбрана нами, потому что мы хотим внести свой вклад в распространение и сохранение современной культуры России в первую очередь, мультимедиасредствами, которые, по сути, представляют собой новый вид СМИ и коммуникации.

2.     Цели и задачи проекта – рассказать об уникальных географических, исторических и культурных аспектах России как нашим соотечественникам, так и иностранцам; подчеркнуть многогранность и самобытность нашей культуры, представленной в различных медийных измерениях, в том числе и на иностранном языке.

3.     Планируемый проектный продукт. Проектным продуктом для нас явился прообраз энциклопедии, в данном случае – мультимедийная миниэнциклопедия, которая представляет собой повествование об истории, природе и культуре нашей страны.

Каждая буква – рассказ о событии, объекте или персонаже, которые явились важной вехой в истории формирования русской цивилизации.

 Описание хода реализации проекта.

4.     План действий. Важный пункт нашей работы – составление плана действий и всех промежуточных этапов.

·        Выбор темы: Russia:from A to Z

·        Сбор информации

·        Сроки. На выполнение данной работы мы запланировали 2 недели.

·        Подготовка и создание миниэнциклопедии в форме мультимедийной презентации.

·        Последний этап: публичная презентация проекта.

5.     Сбор информации и подготовка проекта. Мы начали свою работу с того, что провели письменные и устные анкетирования и опросы среди учащихся нашей школы и их родителей. Выяснив наиболее часто встречающиеся ассоциации, приступили к поиску информации в учебниках английского языка с 5 по 8 класс, лингвострановедческих справочниках, материалах сети интернет. Также нам было необходимо из массы иллюстраций подобрать самые интересные рисунки, отражающие самобытность и богатейшее культурное наследие России.

6.     Презентация проекта. Свой проект мы завершили оформлением его в виде мультимедийной энциклопедии, которой, на наш взгляд, можно пользоваться в качестве наглядного пособия и в других классах.

7.     Заключение. Работа над проектом «Russia: from A to Z» привела нас к лучшему осознанию культуры своей страны и ощущению гордости и чувства патриотизма. Но энциклопедия на этом не заканчивается. Мы планируем делать ее non-stop в течение длительного времени, ведь культурно-историческое наследие нашей страны неисчерпаемо.
