holidays, which celebrated in Great Britain- it is Christmas Day.

Holidays . People in every country celebrate holidays.
Although “holiday” means “holly day” most holidays in Great Britain are not
religious but commemorative in nature and origin. There are only 6 public
holidays a year in Great Britain, that is days on which people need not go in
for work. They are: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday,
Spring Bank Holiday and Late Summer Bank Holiday. In Scotland, the New Years
Day is also a public holiday.

For many British families Christmas is the most important
holiday. Christmas is celebrated in Great Britain on the 25 th of December.
Christmas is a religious holiday and one of the happiest holidays of the year,
because it is the day that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
People prepare for Christmas weeks before: they buy gifts
for their families and friends, choose fur-trees and decorate them with
ornaments, coloured paper, holly and lights, different toys and candles.

are a lot of traditions connected with Christmas but perhaps the most important
one is Christmas presents. Children wait for Santa Claus who comes to every
house and brings presents. Going to bed children leave their stockings and
shoes to receive presents the next morning.
There are a lot of jokes and fun on Christmas day. Young
people like to spend it together in good companies. Family members sit down to
a big turkey dinner followed by Christmas pudding and Christmas cake. Later in
the afternoon they will watch the Queen on TV as she delivers her traditional
message to the U.K. and the Commonwealth.
People wish each other a “Merry Christmas!”

Children decorate a Christmas tree with toys, coloured
balls and little coloured lights and says: “ We wish a Merry Christmas,

We wish a Merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year!”
В зал входят снежинки и танцуют.(вальс). Дети
зовут Санта Клауса.

Клаус приходит на бал.
Santa Claus: Oho-ho!Hello,
children! Merry Christmas! I give you present if you sing a song or read a poem
and dance now.
В мешке есть конфеты: сникерсы, баунти, несквик.
Каждый ученик подходит к Санта Клаусу и берёт конфету, если сникерс- читает
стихотворение, а если баунти- танцует, а если несквик - поёт любую новогоднюю
песенку.
Ученики и ученицы рассказывают стихотворения
на английском языке, поют и танцуют.

Санта Клаус в гости приехал не
один, а со снежинками. Давайте позовём их.
Santa Claus: O’K, thank you. Take a
sweet and present, but I’m come not alone. В зал
входят снежинки и танцуют.(вальс)
Let’s sing a song together. “Jingle bells”.
Учащиеся берутся за руки и кружат хоровод вокруг
ёлки и поют новогоднюю песню на
английском
языке.
Dashing through the snow,
