TIPS
FOR A GOOD TRAVELLING
Nowadays, tourism is getting more and more popular due to the fast
development of transport. Many people consider traveling as a good pastime.
But others believe travelling gives nothing but extra troubles.
In my opinion, there are at least 3 reasons for travelling:
·
A change of scenery. As
psychologists say, it is one of the most reliable way to relax and have a rest.
·
You may find out many new and
interesting things about foreign or your own country.
·
And eventually, travelling is
always an adventure: it does not matter, if you met a celebrity, got lost
yourself and your luggage or just escaped from the angry natives. The dose of adrenaline
is guarantee of an unforgettable experience.
There are a lot of ways of travelling such as by bus, train, ship or by
plane.
Of course, air travel is quicker than other means of transport. This is
particularly true if you are travelling for long distances. However, flying
involves delays and cancellations. You often spend more time waiting for your
flight. Moreover, many people are afraid of heights and turbulence, and in
addition, we should not forget about a threat of terrorism. Travelling by train
is one of the most popular means of transport. Firstly, it’s cheaper than
travelling by air. Besides, modern trains are very comfortable. But for me the
main thing is opportunity to read a book, because I’m often rather busy. Some
people think voyage is more attractive because of splendid panoramic view of
the sea. And yet if the weather is bad and you are sea-sick, cruise is not a
good idea.
Travel should also be planned taking a season into account.
April-September is undoubtedly the best time for a visit to England,
and it is not surprising that at this time most of the attractions are opened
to tourists. July and August is the peak of the tourist season, during which a
visit to the country better be postponed. The least pleasant time to visit is
from November to February.
Italy is a country with a mild climate. Majority of tourists travels to
Italy in the summer, from June to late August. However, travel agencies
recommend spring and autumn months, not only because at that time the number of
tourists is quite small, but also because the weather equals to the summer
season.
The best time to travel to France is certainly in May and early autumn
months. For those who want to go to the Riviera for the period from August to
September is ideal, and if you want to visit resort areas in the Alps, you can
choose any of the seasons. If you plan to visit Corsica in northern areas, it
is best to go in the summer and early autumn. But France provides the most
excellent weather conditions for a particular type of holiday at any time of
the year: winter is for visiting mountain resorts and museums, the summer is a
lovely seaside holiday, autumn and spring are ideal for visits to the central
regions of the country.
In some European countries, after the exchange you can get less money
than expected. The commission for currency-exchange operation can sometimes be
as high as 10%. Look exchangers with the inscription "No commission”.
Also I want to remind you of the things to take with you. Phrasebook.
Believe me, if you really want to find out the features of the country,
communicating with the locals will contribute to it very much. Guide. If the
rest for you is not just lying on a deck chair by the sea, and you like to
spend your holiday actively, then you can do nothing without a good guide! The
best travel guides are Dorling Kindersley, National Geographic and Rough
Guides. GOOD camera! It is very sad when after returning home you discover that
all the pictures are blurry and you have red eyes on most of them. Traveler's
Notebook. I think it is better to fix the good memories on paper! Recharging
and adapters. Look what technique you take with you and do not forget the
charger to each of it (after checking on the Internet does not need an
adapter). It is necessary to sample the local food, even if it seems strange to
you. Try to look for places that are not famous among tourists.
As for me, I would like to visit all the countries, if that were
possible. Going to Italy, try to take into account that in most areas do not
talk is not something that in Russian, but also in English. And the trouble may
lie in wait for you in the most unexpected places, such as a restaurant or
hotel. So take with you a phrasebook. It can come in handy. The best thing is
to speak in Italy in Italian!
The Pearl of Italy, the City of Love. This city on the water is one of
the most attractive cities in Europe. Magnificent channels and gondolas gliding
over them, bridges, splendid palaces, churches and small houses, each of which
is a masterpiece of architecture, and amazingly beautiful carnival masks - all
of this are parts of the wonderful Italian fairy tale called Venice. Venetian
Carnival opens with traditional flight of angel from the highest bell tower (70
meters) at St. Mark's Square to the Doge's Palace. The Grand Canal is the
central water traffic artery of the city with a length of 3800 meters. The
Doge's Palace that was built in the 14th century is one of the most beautiful
buildings in the city. St. Mark's Square, the largest square in the city, there
is the Cathedral of San Marco. Next to the cathedral stands the clock tower
Torre dell'orologio. Santa Maria della Salute is one of the most famous churches
in the city, belongs to the era of the Renaissance. The church was built in
1631 in honor of the Virgin Mary who got rid the Venice of plague. Venice is
gradually disappearing under the water. The ancient settlers were forced twice
to rebuild the city, going up on the island. As you could understand, in
several years I’m going to make travelling my favourite hobby. And I believe that
the best way to study geography is to travel and the best way to get to know
and understand the people is to meet them in their own homes.
