    1.What's wrong?
    After lunch, the adalts slept on the sofas in front at the Queen speech in television while all play cards. Than we have tea, with huge Christmas cake covered in snowman and polar bears .It does not seem possible ,but we carryed on eating .By bedtime all of children were exhausted. As we have turned off the light, we all falled into a deep, contented sleep.

    At the bottom of the bed was the stocking, now full with all kinds small presents and sweets and at the bottom a chocolate sixpence and a tangerine. Christmas morning is brightly and suny and, after church ,my cusin David and I want out into garden play with our new presents .Lunch was always late ,but what a lunch! Roast turkey with all the vegetables followed by Christmas puding and brandy butter .When we pulled the crackers, the dog had barked; we are taking out the plastic toys, laughed on the jokes ,put off the silly paper hats and laughed again.

Тип урока:  совершенствование  лексико- грамматических навыков,  навыков аудирования и говорения,

Продолжительность урока:  40 минут

Класс: 10

Цели урока:

  • развивать  у учащихся  социокультурные компетенции, развивать речевую и мыслительную активность, используя различные формы работы, формировать умения работать с информацией и медиасредствами.
  • формировать ответственность за результаты своего труда и работы всего класса;  

 

Технологии:

-     презентация, выполненная в программе PowerPoint 2007,

-     работа с информационной базой данных в сети Интернет,

-     интернет  ресурсы http:// www.esl-lab.com

 

Оборудование:

Using computer technologies makes the  process of  studying English easier and more effective .  The main goal of this lesson is to represent you some studying activities of this kind .Today you work on the computers and can surf the Internet. Our topic today is« Christmas».

 

1 .Task for listening comprehension.

Listen to the interview « Christmas is coming», given by two little children about their preparation for Christmas. http:// www.esl-lab.com

 Pre-Listening Exercise.

Christmas is a time when children hope to receive presents from their parents, other family, and friends. Imagine that you are one of the children in this conversation (a three-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl). What Christmas gifts would you like to receive?

Listen to the conversation and answer the questions. Press the "Final Score" button to check your quiz.

                         Christmas is Coming!

Man: Well, Christmas is almost here. So, what do you want from Santa this year?

Micky: A toy car and walkie-talkies.

Man: Really? Well, and what about you, Emily? What do you want for Christmas?

Emily: If I can't have a Barbie radio, um, I would have some fragile dolls. And if I can't have some fragile dolls, it doesn't really matter what I get.

Man: Wow. Well, I'm excited, and Santa is coming. And how is Santa going to get inside the house, Micky?

Micky: Um, go down the chimney . . .

Man: Okay, so he's going to go down the chimney, and should we prepare anything for Santa?

Micky: Yeah!

Man: What are we going to prepare for him, Emily?

Emily: Um. We could prepare some cookies for him and some hot chocolate, and, um, we could give Rudolph some, um, hot chocolate in a bowl and a cookie. And we could give some of the reindeer some cookies and some hot chocolate in a bowl.

Man: Well, what do you think? They, Um, reindeer probably don't eat cookies, but what else could we give them, Micky?

Micky: Um, apples.

Man: Ah, that's good. And, uh . . .

Emily: Oranges and bananas.

Man: Okay and what time do you think we should go to bed?

Emily: Um, seven.

Man: About seven o'clock. Well, that's exciting. I'm really happy that Christmas is coming.

 

2. Tasks for reading comprehension.

       

1. What’s wrong? (слайд 3)

I have chosen a text and underlined some mistakes in it. Look at each mistake, correct them  and say why you think they are wrong.  .Check the answers together with the whole class.

  You are given another text with errors, but the errors are not marked in this one.

   Look at the text and analyze the mistakes the same way you did with the first one.

   Correct the mistakes

Read the text once.

Take turns to read the text aloud.

When you finish, I will delete every fourth word from the text .Read the text again.  You can help each other if you get stuck.

We will repeat the task until no text left on the blackboard. You should read the invisible story.

You should fill in the gaps with appropriate words. But before, try to answer my questions according to the text. It will help you to do this exercise in a proper way

    Now answer the multiple-choice questions

Look at the distractors again, and decide why you think they are incorrect. Let’s discuss the first one, and then talk about the rest by yourselves.

Write a new distractor for each item on our smart  board; in other words, turn the 3-option task into a 4-option one. The new distractor should be wrong for the same reason as the other two. (работа с интерактивной доской)

 

6. Speaking comprehension

You and your friend are playing the roles of two singers from the well- known group «ABBA», performing the song «Happy New Year». Listen to the song and then   give a talk on the next options:
