Aim: to develop students` reading comprehension
Objectives: By the end of the lesson students will be able to:
Literature: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Content: The lesson contains pre, while and post- reading activities and games.
Materials: home reading book, blackboard, cards, box
Organizational moment: The teacher starts the lesson from greetings and warm-up activity. The further tasks are based on the story.
Warm-up:
Presentation:
Look through the story and choose five words that are new for you. Write them in your vocabulary notebooks.
(The teacher presents new words with the help of pictures, translates where it is needed and explains the meaning of words through the context)
Read the story carefully and be ready to work with it.

Remembering
Q: Who are the main characters of the story?
T:Tell the names of all the characters mentioned in the story
Understanding
Q: What were the conditions of the “game”?
Determine the rules of the “game” proposed by green knight.
Applying
Q: What would you do if you were in the place of Sir Gawain?
T: Modify the situation- imagine you were the Sir Gawain: Would you be as brave as he was?
Analyzing
Q: What do Sir Gawain and Green Knight have in common?
T: Compare and contrast Sir Gawain and Green Knight.
Analyze their behaviors and what they`ve done.
Evaluating
Q: What do you think the role of honesty in our lives?
T: Appraise the importance of game green Knight came up with to test knights` bravery and honesty.
