Lesson Aims:

  By the end of the lesson students will:

·        have learned interesting information on various topics;

·        have practised discussing different topics.

Objectives:

·        to create conditions for the development of students’ logical and analytical thinking;

·        to create conditions for broadening of students’ knowledge on various topics;

·        to  encourage students share their opinion;

·        to promote cooperation, competitiveness and team spirit in class;

·        to create conditions for raising  students’ motivation for learning English.

Procedure:   Three groups of students take part in the game. There are ten rounds in it.  Each round consists of 5 questions on different topics. The teams must answer the questions. If their answer is correct they’ll get from 10 to 50 points. If they don’t know the answer they are able not to answer the question, then they won’t get any points. If their answer is wrong they’ll get from -10 to -50 points. The aim is to get as many points as they can.

Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку "Jeopardy. World Around Us" (“Своя игра”) разработано для учащихся 8 класса. Мероприятие можно использовать во время предметной недели. "Jeopardy" - это аналог интеллектуальной игры "Своя игра". Вопросы составлены на различную тематику. Правила такие же как в спортивной версии игры "Своя игра". Если команда ответила правильно - она получает +10 (+20, +30, +40, +50) баллов соответственно, если команда дала неверный ответ - она получает -10 (-20, -30, -40, -50) баллов. Побеждает команда, набравшая наибольшее количество баллов.
