Иртышск 2015г.
Цель:
Привитие интереса к знанию международного, иностранного языка, развитие культурного
интереса.
Задачи:
1.
Формирование стремления к овладению английского языка;
2. Изучение стран говорящих на английском языке;
1st speaker:
Good day dear guests, dear classmates!!!
Welcome to our class on the Day of English
Language!
I’m very glad to see you all today on this
great English lesson!
Do you know that there are between
6000 and 7000 languages in the world? Half of the world’s populations are
bilingual or multilingual. Languages are constantly in contact and borrow words
and expressions from each other. It’s interesting that languages are related to
each other like the members of family. Most European languages belong to the
large Indo-European family. European languages use the Latin and the Cyrillic
alphabets.
2nd speaker:
Who speaks my language?
English is spoken in many countries
including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia, New
Zealand, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Pakistan and India. English is the most
widely studied second language in the world. There are over 500 million people
in the world who speak English.
3rd
speaker
Europe is a «Melting Pot» of
languages. English is spoken practically all over the world. It is spoken as
the mother tongue in Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada,
Australia and New Zealand. A lot of people speak English in China, Japan,
India, Africa and other countries. It is one of 6 official languages of the
United Nations. It is studied as a foreign language in many schools.
4th speaker
Some words came into English
directly from Latin, which was the language of the church and the universities
in the middle Ages. Some of the English words of today are derivatives. One way
of creating new words is to put together two or more older English words. For
example, the words ``railway``, ``football``,
``newspaper`` are made in this way. Many of the new English words-especially
new scientific ones-have been made from Latin and Greek words instead of
English ones. ``Telephone`` for instance, was made from Greek words ``far`` and
``talk``.
5th speaker
English language is a wonderful
language. It’s the language of the great literature. It’s the language of
William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens and others. Half of the world’s scientific
literature is in English. It’s the language of computers technology. The great
German poet Goette once said, ``He, who knows no foreign language, doesn’t know
his own one``. That’s why in order to understand oneself and environment one
has to learn foreign languages.
6th speaker
Learning a foreign language is not
an easy thing. Nowadays it’s especially important to know foreign languages.
Some people learn languages because they need them for their work, others
travel abroad, for the third studying foreign languages is a hobby. Everyone,
who knows foreign languages can speak to people from other countries, read
foreign authors in the original, which makes your outlook wider.
7th speaker
I study English. It’s a long and slow process
that takes a lot of time and efforts. Over 300 million people speak it is as a
mother tongue. The native speakers of English live in Great Britain, the United
States of America, Australia and New Zealand. English is one of the official
languages of the United Nations Organization and other political organizations.
In some countries, such as Nigeria and India, there are often many different
languages and so these countries we English as an ``official`` or ``second
language for different, business and education.
Thank you all for your attention!
See you next year! Good bye!
