CMYK decoding:
С (cyan) - blue - can be characterized as deep blue;
M (magenta) - crimson - a color close to dark pink or fuchsia;
Y (yellow) - yellow - orthodox customary color without lowering or raising the tone;
K (key) - black.
It has a smaller color gamut in comparison with the RGB color table, but it is precisely it that is suitable for process printing. To form new shades, three colors are mixed with the addition of black. White is not available in this color model. It cannot be obtained by mixing 3 colors, as is the case with RGB. White is obtained only due to the shade of the material itself.
At the moment, this particular model is the standard in offset full-color printing in Europe, USA, Japan. In most cases, the CMYK color scheme is used, in which the shades are calculated from 0 to 100, but there is another model - CMYK 255. In it, the shades are calculated from 0 to 255. Let's give an example.
Suppose you want to get pure black, then the indicators should be maximum (in the standard scheme - 100 each), but if white (that is, no color) - 0. By adjusting each of the 4 indicators, you can achieve the required shade. Typically for designers, assistants are special tools, such as the eyedropper in Photoshop. It determines not just the appearance of a particular shade, but also its color scheme. Then, to achieve an identical result (with multiple circulation or different versions of corporate products), it is enough to know the digital meaning of each color in the system.
