aim: • To enrich the pupils’ knowledge giving them more information
about holidays In Great Britain and in Kazakhstan
• To
develop pupils’ pronunciation in English. To develop communicative skills and
abilities through different communicative activities, to widen pupil’s
knowledge about holidays, to speak about holidays
• To
great an interest in studying in English language.

theme is about holidays in the USA.

holidays do you know in Great Britain ?

Teacher: What do you know
about that holidays? I'll give you word combinations and you must speak about
that holiday.
Pupils: a) Christmas. decorate
Christmas trees , presents, to leave a long sock or stocking, on December 24,
Santa Claus, chimney, presents, turkey, Christmas pudding.
b) St. Valentine’s Day. to send cards, love, to send gifts, sweets,
flowers, on February 14.
c) Thanksgiving
Day. families, traditional dinner, roast turkey, sweet potatoes, pumpkin
pie, to give thanks, good things.
d) New Year.
on December 31, parties, to dress up in costumers, masks, to visit friends,
relatives, neighbors, watch television.
e) Halloween, on 31st of October, for children, knock, “trick” or
“threat”, to give them money or sweets, to play a trick.

December there is the greatest holiday. People buy a Christmas tree and
decorate it with toys, coloured balls and lights.

early to find stockings full of small presents on their bed.

Year

Year’s Eve all British celebrate on the 31st of December. Most people see with
friends and relatives.
At
midnight they sings New Year songs and wishes a happy New Year.
Easter
In
April or at the end of March English people celebrate Easter Day.
On
Easter Sunday children get chocolate eggs and rabbits.
Halloween
On
the 31st of October there is Halowe’en.
Children like Haloween parties, they put on witch’s and ghost’s dresses.
They go “trick or treat”.
Mother’s
day
In
March there is a holiday for English women – Mother’s Day.
People
in the family try to help her.
On
that day they visit their mothers and give them presents and “A Mother’s Day
Card”
