1)      проконтролировать степень усвоения грамматического материала Present Perfect Passive, лексического материла по теме «Музеи»

We’ll have a look at our new words. Virus has deleted the translation of some words:

Ampere, amperage, amperemeter.

Volt, voltage, voltmeter.

Resistance, resistor.

Measure, measurer.

Let’s use your knowledge in Physics. Let’s translate these words. Listen to me, please and try to guess new words from the context.

A Voltmeter and amperemeter are measurers. A voltmeter demonstrates a voltage. An amperemeter shows an amperage. An amperage depends on a resistance and a voltage. Ampere and volt are measures. Ampere is the measure of amperage. Volt is the measure of voltage.

What is the measure of resistance? – Ohm is!

Translate new words without my help:

Virus has destroyed the main electric low! Consult an ancient book to remember it.

(Are you tired?) Listen to the electricity tale.

Once upon a time in a city “Circuit” there lived the king “Amperage”, his guard “Voltage”. Someone closed the circuit. Amperage  and Voltage called for help.

How can we help to Amperage? Give good advice to resistors.

Three little resistors came and connected in series(they gave hands to each other, making a chair). Oh, the king “Amperage” became so little. How can we help to amperage?

-          Pupils: They must stay one by one and they must connect parallel.

Resistors changed their places and paralleled. The amperage became very big. Resistors called their friends and amperage grew and grew and struck by lightning the circuit opened. Amperage and Voltage became free!

Let’s revise this tale in practice. Now we’ll do a short lab work. You’ll get instructions, then make a circuit. Comment your actions, please, using new words and Present Perfect Tense.  Instead of the lamp You can take a resistor instead of the lamp.

Instruction:

1)      Take a wire and a lamp and connect them.

2)      Connect a battery and a switch with the help of the wire.

3)      Connect an amperemeter in series.

4)       Pay attention on + and – connect + to + Light the lamp (bulb). Turn off the lamp

What Physics low do we need to explain the dependence of the amperage upon Voltage?

Pupils: We need Ohm's law. It demonstrates the dependence of amperage upon the voltage. Ohm determined that the current that flows through a wire is proportional to its cross sectional area and inversely proportional to its length. It is Ohm's law. Using the results of his experiments,

Georg Simon Ohm was able to define the fundamental relationship among voltage, current, and resistance which represents the true beginning of electrical circuit analysis.
