Good afternoon,
class. Sit down please. I’m very glad to see you. Tell me please. How are
you? What date is it today? What is the weather like today? Do you like such
weather? Who is absent today? Thank you.
Your home task
was to learn the new words orally. So, let’ check them. You are to come to
the blackboard, I’ll tell you the words in Russian and you are to give their
Russian equivalents. Are there any volunteers?
Now look at the
slide please. Here is a theatre hall. You are to name its elements and to
show them on the picture. Is the task clear?
Let’s revise
passive voice. Open your books on page 214 ex.8 letter B You are to express
the same idea using Passive. For example, English borrowed a lot of books. –
A lot of books were borrowed by English.
Well done. Now
look at your hand-outs (Приложение 1). The task is the same – to
express the same idea using Passive.
Good for you.
Скажите, пожалуйста, помните ли вы как употребляются предлоги by и with в
пассивном залоге?
Итак,
если в пассивном залоге указывается исполнитель действия, выраженный
одушевленным сущ или местоимением, употребляется предлог by. Eg. The book was written by Pushkin.
Если
указывается объект или материал, при помощи которого совершено действие,
употребляется предлог with. Eg. The finger
was cut with a knife.
Let’s practice
it. Please, look at the slide. You are to make sentences using prepositions
by and with. The pictures and the verb will help you. For example, kiwi is
eaten with a small spoon. Is the task clear? Who would like to start?
Very good. Now
let’s recall the words that help us to talk about theatre. Tell me please: 1)
What popular theatres do you know? 2) What members of the theatre company do
you know? 3) Plays can be of different kinds, can you name them? 4) What do
people who work in the theatre? 5) What happens before the performance? 6)
What happens after the performance?
Thank you. Open
your books on page 209 ex. 52. You are to read the definition and say what
you call them. For example, a dancer who takes part in a ballet is a ballet
dancer. Is the task clear?
Well done. Now
please look at the ex 60. We are to read the talks in pairs and say in what
parts of the theatre they are taking place. Who would like to start?
Thank you. Now I
would like your own opinion about theatre and your “theatrical experience”. Tell
me please how often do you go to the theatre or an opera house? What I your
favourite theatre? What seats in the theatre do you prefer?
Your home task
is to describe one of your visits to the theatre or an opera house. And you
also should revise all the material you have learnt.
Your marks for
today are…
The lesson is
over. Goodbye!
