Цели урока:
1.Образовательная цель: Расширение
социокультурных знаний о стране изучаемого языка. Формирование своего отношения
к преступлениям и наказаниям.
2.Развивающая цель: Развитие
аналитических способностей учащихся при выполнении тренировочных упражнений.
3.Воспитательная цель: Воспитание
чувства ответственности за свои поступки. Воспитание уважительного отношения к
закону.

Активная лексика урока: accident,
incident, caution, do community service, innocent, major crime, offender, soft
measures, victim, blackmail, quilty, fine, illegal, jury, trial, offence,
verdict, witness, assаssination, bribery, drug dealing, hijacking,
kidnapping. Murder, smuggling, theft (thief, buglar, shoplifter, pickpocket,
robber).
Stages
I Warm up:
This
activity is aimed at reviewing active and additional vocabulary.
Tell the students they are going to discuss an urgent problem of crimes and
punishment.
They
say: “Prevention is better than cure” and they are absolutely right. Nowadays
it’s impossible to imagine the life of a society without law, order and the
whole system of jurisdiction as well. So, the topic of our lesson is “Crime and
Punishment”.
You
will enlarge your topical vocabulary and during the lesson you’ll get a chance
to check your ability to remember new words and express your opinion on
different types of punishment in a written form.
II Revision and practice
Allow
Ss two minutes to match the definitions A – А to the
crimes below and fill in a word formation table/ Check the answers with the
whole class.
Match
the definitions A – K to the crimes bellow.
