2. Основная
часть урока
Слайд 7-8: Let’s read and understand new
information about Easter in England and Russia. ( рассказ
учителя
о
празднике)
What is Easter?
Easter
is the most important Christian festival. Christians are followers of Jesus
Christ who lived about 2000 years ago in a country called Palestine.
They believe that Jesus
was the son of God. At Easter time Christians remember the last week of Jesus' life
and celebrate his Resurrection.
Слайд 9 : When do they celebrate Easter?
In fact not only is Easter a movable feast but it
happens on different dates depending on where in the world you live. The reason
for this is that in western churches such as in the UK, America and Australia,
we use the Gregorian calendar rather than the Julian calendar used in eastern
churches.
Teacher: What are
the differences between Russian and British Easter traditions . And what are
Easter symbols? What do people usually eat on Easter Sunday ? What are the
most important days of Easter? Don’t you know?
Слайды 10-18: Easter traditions. Easter symbols.
Easter day in Britain has a lot of
traditions.The three most
important days are: Maundy
Thursday (Великий четверг),Good Friday (Страстная пятница),
Easter Sunday (Пасхальное
воскресенье). On Maundy Thursday the king or a queen of
England gives money to poor people. The tradition is very old. On Good
Friday people eat fish instead of meat. They also eat special hot cakes with a
cross on the top. They call these cakes hot cross buns.

One
of the oldest spring symbols in the world is the egg. Eggs are a symbol of a
new life. Exchanging and eating Easter eggs is a popular custom in many
countries. Nowadays people give each other Easter eggs made of chocolate,
usually hollow and filled with sweets.
The Russian
traditional Easter meal is a kulich, paskha and Easter eggs. The eggs were hard-boiled
and dyed in various colours and patterns. The traditionally bright colours
represented spring and light.
Children like Easter very much because it
is a tasty holiday.
At Easter children eat chocolate Easter eggs,
chocolate bunnies and a lot of sweets.
Слайды 19-21: Easter Bunny.
Legend of Easter Bunny
Long ago in a small village the mothers
had no money to buy their children presents for Easter. They painted eggs with
lots of beautiful pictures and hid them in the forest near the village. When
the children went to play in the forest on Easter Sunday they saw the eggs but
they didn't know where they had come from. Suddenly a bunny ran out from
behind a pile of eggs and the children started shouting: "They are bunny's
eggs!".
Слайд 22 : Easter games with eggs. Easter eggs play
an important part in Easter sports. Two traditional egg games are the Easter
Egg Roll and the Easter Egg Hunt. The rules of the first game are to see who
can roll a hard-boiled egg without breaking it. During the second game children
should put the eggs in baskets and bring them to home.
Teacher: Children
play a lot in Britain. Do you like playing games? Now let’s compete! We have
two teams : Chicks and Bunnies.
The first competition is
Easter Word Hunt- circle the words
The next competition is
Easter Eggs Hunt – find the eggs. An Easter Bunny hid some eggs in our class. (Ученики
ищут в классе спрятанные яйца, ориентироваться помогают листики с подсказками на
английском языке, где найти яйцо)
