Ход урока :
Организационный момент (речевая разминка)
- Good afternoon! I am glad to see you. How are you today? Is everybody here?
I see? Ann is absent. Is she ill?
- She is at the competition.
-What kind of the competition is it? (Дети отвечают)
- Oh, Ann is a young sportsman. Lets wish her good luck.
Постановка темы и задач урока детьми.
- And what about you? Have you ever taken part in the competitions?
-I see, you are fond of sport. It is very good. Sport plays an important role
in our life. Do you agree with me?
Tell me,please, how do you think, what is the topic of our lesson today?
Предположения учеников (I think…., as for me….)
- Yes, you are right. We will talk about sport? And to be exact? ( ответы)
- I suggest you to watch the clip. Maybe then you will be able to answer.
- What event is shown on this video? (мнения учеников)
- It is the opening of the World Youth Games in Moscow in 1998.

- Do you know anything about the World Youth Games?
Lets read the text about it. Open your students books on the page 118 Ex.78.
On the board you see unknown words. They help you by reading. You have 5 min..
-The time is over. What have you learnd?
And now I want to check the task using Ex. 79. There are 12 short answers.
And you should make up 12 questions. Divide in to 3 teams. The first 4 questions
are for you. The next for you and for you. You have 5 minutes.

- It is time to answer. Say your questions and on the board you see the right variant.
-And now, I want you to imagine, that you are participants of your town or
School championship. Each group chooses a sheet of paper with one type of sports.
(Дети выбирают листы с надписями видов спорта)
- What type of sport haмe you? (Называют по порядку)
- There is a picture for each sports team , but they are cut into pieces. You should
match them like a puzzle on your desks. But, at first, find the pieces in the class.
(Каждая команда ищет кусочки своей картинки и собирают пазл)
Good! The next task for you. Think of motto and emblem of your championship.
- Today we have found some information about the World Youth Games.
