I. Начало урока.
Т (учитель): Hello, students. We are going to start
our lesson. Our lesson is devoted to revising the vocabulary related to
computer systems in the context of making recommendations for the configuration
of a computer system. Computer configuration is the way computers are set up
and linked together.
Let’s revise some words related to our
theme. Say them out loud, and make examples:
burn
(v) if you burn a CD or DVD, you record music, images or other information onto
it using special computer equipment
Examples: to burn CDs.
connect
(v) to join something to a computer or telephone network
Examples: connect
the printer to the computer.
insert (v)
to put something inside or into something else
Examples: to insert a word.
install
(v) to put a piece of equipment somewhere and connect it so that you can use
it
Examples: install the software/
move
(v) to take something and put it in a different place or position
Examples: move

office

Examples: they
work at the office.
run

scan

Examples: scan these papers into the
computer.
set up
(phr
v) to install and make a new computer system work for the first time
Examples: to set new software.
troubleshoot
(v) to solve problems that a computer is having
Examples: troubleshoot my issue
Let’s make some practice. Make affirmative(+),
negative(-) and question(?) sentences with these words using Present
simple.
Example:
(+) It connectS these
devices.
(-) It doesn’t
connect these devices.
(?) Does
it connect these devices?
Ok, now you are ready to make Business matters.
Let’s read the instructions:
A company asks you to recommend a computer
and work station configuration for their sales team. In small groups (4
students), decide what to advise. Think about these things:
1 There is an office for sales team ( 3*3
m2).
1 There are seven people in the sales
team.
2 Five people are out of the office four
days of the week.
3 Two people are in the office all the time
- the team admin assistant and the office manager.
4 Employees need a network connection
(wired and wireless).
5 Employees print, scan and copy.
6 Company and client data must be stored
on a separate device and backed up regularly.
You have to decide what hardware and
software to buy for a sales team. Make sure you understand the six factors you
must bear in mind when choosing what to buy. You should work in small groups (4
students) to agree on a configuration. One student in each group should record
the group’s decisions.
Please, use must, mustn't, can,
can't, don't have to in your discussions.
We use must and mustn't for
obligations.
We use can and can't for possibility and ability.
We use have to for something that is
necessary.
We use don't have to for something that is
not necessary.
for example,
They must have six laptops.
The assistant doesn’t have to have a
laptop.
You should draw your project for further
presentation.
2 After making a drawing each group presents
their configurations to the class. Try to keep the presentations as short as
possible (one or two minutes for each group). Analyze
what differences there are.

Good
job. Well
done. Now, using your project write an email with your recommendations to your
partner. Tell them how to begin and end their emails (for example, Dear …,
Please contact us if you require more information. We look forward to hearing
from you. Kind regards, …).
Here are my suggestions to writing:
Dear …, We recommend this
configuration for the sales team: Five laptops for employees out of the
office: this model has the most efficient hardware. One MFP: this is the
most durable and easiest to work with. A wireless link between computers: this
is the most convenient connection. Please contact us if you require more
information. We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards, Computer Systems Team
Студенты зачитывают свои работы.
T(учитель): Very nice. You have made a good job of
it. Let’s make some kind of conclusion. We can choose the best recommendation
for sale team.
What are the results? (выбор наилучшего проекта)
Thank you for good work.
Ok. Let’s have some fun with a tongue twister.
If you want to buy, buy
If you don’t want to buy, bye-bye.
For conclusion, let’s revise some useful
words you’ve learned today.
