The Lumiere brothers are the legendary "fathers" of the French film industry, who opened the way to the world of cinema for humanity. They shot the first movie clips and projected them on the screen. The French cinematheque stores about 1800 tapes shot by the famous brothers.

The most famous painting by Louis and Auguste Lumiere is considered to be "The arrival of the train at La Ciotat station". Despite the simple plot, the film is extremely popular. This is due to the story about the audience's reaction during the session.

History says that cinema appeared in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century and was brought by the French. But this did not prevent the photographers from quickly mastering the art of camerawork and already in 1898 they released the first documentary videos. But only 10 years later, director Alexander Drankov created the first Russian film – "The Lower Freemen". It was the birth of the great silent cinema in Russia, the picture was black and white, silent, short and nevertheless very touching.
