Описание презентации по отдельным слайдам:
If you don’t think about the future, you will not have it” John Golsworthy
Our Planet is in Danger! Every day we hear about environmental problems: Acid rain Pollution Climate change The destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats
Here are our problems: Littering Air pollution Water pollution Endangered species Destruction of natural resources
Match the verbs with the nouns: to protect the atmosphere to drop the environment to pollute old containers to turn off public transport to recycle litter to pay lights to go by a fine

Water pollution Water pollution is caused by dumping wastes into lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water. Harmful wastes may also get into the soil or drain off fields that have been sprayed with pesticides. Pesticides are often used to kill insects and weeds in cities or on farms. Polluted water can spread many diseases.
We must keep our environment clean. «There’s so much pollution in the air now that if it weren’t for our lungs, there would be no place to put it all» (Robert Orben, US comedy writer)
we must protect Our animals “There is no place in nature for extinction.” ( Licretius, Roman poet and philosopher)
100,000 marine mammals and nearly a million seabirds die either from getting caught in or eating litter each year. Many of these creatures are already threatened or endangered species.

These problems become very pressing, the subject of many scientific meetings. Let everybody remember: we live only once and not a very long life. We have one earth for all those who love it and who do not. “A society is not defined by what it creates, but by what it refuses to destroy.” (John Sawhill, US environmentalist).
Many territories, water basins, lakes, rivers, seas, oceans and the atmosphere are polluted with all kinds of technological, agricultural, chemical, nuclear and other wastes. The intensive development of sciences, industry and chemistry in the 20th century has made the pollution of our environment a global problem which should be solved by all means.
“A nation that destroys its soil destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people” (Franklin D Roosevelt, American president) People are destroying the rainforests at a rate of 115 square miles a day. The trees are cut down and used as building material or fuel. The land on which these forests grow is being used for homes and factories and roads.
They sort their rubbish: there are special containers for paper, tins, food, white glass, brown glass and green glass. After that special factories recycle these materials and people reuse them.
A lot of people use public transport. They don’t go by car, because firstly, cars pollute the atmosphere and secondly, because it's very difficult and expensive to park a car in a big city.
Never forget to turn off lights and water. Water, heating and electricity are expensive!
OUR LAND IS FULL OF BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS,PLANTS,TREES WHICH GROW AND BLOSSOM IN THE MEADOWS,ON THE BANKS OF THE RIVERS AND LAKES, IN THE FORESTS AND IN OUR GARDENS.
We can save oceans, seas and rivers
What can we do to protect nature? We can recycle newspapers, bottles and metal cans. We mustn’t cut down trees. Feed birds in winter. Protect wildlife, plants and trees. Keep all water clean. Don’t use aerosol sprays. Don’t use chemicals in the garden. Turn off the light when you leave the room. Don’t cut wild flowers. Try to avoid buying plastic. It’s hard to recycle.
Future is in our hands. 1
It`s a world of laughter, a world of tears, It`s a world of hope and a world of fears! There`s so much that we share that it`s time we are aware- It`s a small world after all !
There`s just the moon and the golden sun And a smile means friendship to everyone. Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide! It`s a small world after all!
