1.Introduction.
Kursk
region is extremely rich in people who are endowed with a special grace of God.
These are Seraphim of Sarov, Damian, John the recluse, Pachomius of Sarov
(Leonov), mark of Sarov, Juvenal, Pitirim of Sarov (Druzhin), elders and old
men. The Kursk land lived not only saints, but it was a different sort of
phenomenon. One of them is the Appearance of the Miraculous icon of the Kursk
mother Of God, the Sign of the most Holy Theotokos.
The news of an
extraordinary person – the Kursk nun Misaila-reached far. Before the
revolution, it was known by many residents of the Kursk region. The revolution
of 1917 also failed to shake faith in the power of her prayers. And even the
"powers that be" at a time when there was a merciless wave of arrests
and shootings of believers, in 1937, returned to the nun Misaila her land
"valuable-precious" and allowed her to build a house, without
allowing any arrest or cruel persecution: living in fear for their freedom,
they themselves sought her, holding on to her prayers, accurate and concise
advice.
For it was impossible not
to believe a man who, except for love of God and warm prayers, had no desire
for the benefits of life.
2.The Main Part.
There is a very special, fertile place not far from
Kursk. Here the villages have old ringing and clean names: Muravlevo, Zorino,
Baryshnikovo. < < Our place is valuable-precious>>, - said the old
woman misaila, who lived in these places for 93 years, and predicted that the
time will come when the Ant will become famous. When asked by her family when
this would happen, she only smiled... But everyone knew that this would happen,
because the predictions of the nun Misaila were sure to come true. Matryona
Gavrilovna Zorina (Grankina), the future nun of misaila, was born on November
19 (6), 1860 in the village of Muravlevo-Zorino of the Kursk district of the
Kursk province. Her parents, state peasants Gavrila Semyonovich and Pelageya
Gavrilovna, married in 1855, and died approximately in 1863 from oven fumes,
leaving two young daughters Feona and Matrena.
The eldest Feona was four years old, and Matrena -
three Girls according to the tradition of that time began to bring up the whole
village. The older sister died soon after, and the younger Matryona had to
wander around other people's homes until she was 17, enduring the humiliations
and difficulties of a semi-impoverished existence. The girl also found comfort
in the Church. At the age of 17, the village community married Matryona to a
wealthy peasant, Vasily Zorin. Vasily Zorin was going to marry the first beauty
in the village, but before the wedding, lifting something heavy, he injured his
back. The beauty refused to marry the invalid, and Vasily began to take out his
grief on the defenseless orphan Matryona. She had no right to enter the house
until she was called, sleeping in the barn in the summer and in the kitchen in
the winter. Matryona prayed as she went down to the cellar. The Lord will hear
from them, said Matryona. At the age of 23, she gave birth to a son, Matvey,
and three years later remained a widow - her husband Vasily died of consumption.
To support herself and her son, Matryona had to take on any job. She told how,
after a day of peasant labor, she carried a child in her arms at night,
transporting people on a ferry. During this period, she found human support
only from her mother-in-law, who helped raise her grandson, and after the death
of her son, gave her daughter-in-law a house.
A new stage in Matryona Gavrilovna's life is
associated with the realization of her long-held dream of becoming a nun.
Approximately to its execution, she was only able to 45 years. In 1905, after
asking for the blessing of the ruling Bishop, Matryona Gavrilovna and a girl
she knew were going to Jerusalem. As mother misaila told her family, the Kursk
Governor, when he learned of their desire, gave them 50 rubles in gold for the
road. when she reached Jerusalem, Matryona Gavrilovna diligently prepared for
her vows and monastic life. At the Baptism of the Lord, during the consecration
of water in the Jordan, an unknown monk approached her and gave her a stone from
the place where the Savior was said to have stood when he received Baptism. The
monk also handed her the Saint's cap. Who this monk was and whose cap is still
unknown, but the stone and cap later served my mother, helping to heal the most
difficult patients. Preparation for the tonsure was disrupted by an unusual
dream: a woman saw that she was flooded with water and a voice said: this dream
was repeated twice more. If the first time the water filled the legs, the
second time the water reached the waist, and the third time to the throat. Then
the elders of Jerusalem blessed Matryona Gavrilovna to return to her homeland.
Some time after returning home, my mother
became ill. She woke up in a coffin, as if from a bright flash. The Psalmist,
who was reading the Psalter, ran away in terror. And the girl she saw in the
corner of the Saint, as if in the cloud, the mother of God , who said: my Dear
, you've hurt a lot of you underwent, and now, where will you be I'll be where
you set foot, there she would be Mine... From that moment Matryona Gavrilovna
received the gift of perspicacity, the gift of healing the sick with prayers,
and the gift of advice. Dozens of pastoral and hundreds of human destinies
predicted by her. A great number of people through her and her prayers were
able to realize the will of God and touch the divine grace. People flocked to
Muravlevo for help and advice not only from the surrounding villages. They came
here from Kursk, Moscow, Leningrad, Riga, Yevpatoria, and Odessa. When the
morning train stopped at the station, the cars simply emptied. My mother's
fellow villagers said that the procession was like a procession, but without
icons.
Surprisingly, a simple
illiterate peasant, an orphan raised by the whole village, was able to become a
spiritual support for thousands of people and a prayer book for the land of
Kursk in the most difficult years. Thousands of people lived by her joy, her
Faith, her love for God, her prayer. And still live today, the nun misaila went
to the Lord on December 16, 1953 and was buried on the site of the altar of the
destroyed temple in the village of Muravlevo. "When I die, come to my grave,
I will help you," she told people. Today, as before, people come to Mother
Misaila and as before, find comfort and help and witness new and new miracles.
Miraculous
healings at the source of Mother Misaila
This happened in 2001,
when I was in the monastery of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the Root Desert. Once I
had a severe headache, although I usually didn't suffer from headaches. I was
in severe pain for three days, nothing helped to cure me, and then I was advised
to go to the grave of the nun Misaila. I served a memorial service at her
grave, but the pain didn't go away. Then I went down to the spring that is
nearby and washed my face. Suddenly, within a few seconds, there was complete
healing.
I tell you about the case
of the miraculous help of the nun Misaila. This happened in 2010. My ear was
very sore, so I couldn't sleep, it was so painful. I went to the doctors, they
offered me to go to the hospital and have an operation, but I decided to go
first to the grave of Misaila and take some water to the spring. At home, I
prayed and asked for help from Misaila, then I dripped this water into my sore
ear and went to bed. I woke up in the morning, and the ear passed, even it was
not noticeable that recently it was very sore. The operation was not necessary.
All this happened thanks to the help of mother Misaila.
3.Conclusoin.
The future nun, Matryona Gavrilovna
Zorina, was born here in 1854. Since childhood, left an orphan wandered through
the yards of local residents. After marrying a disabled person, she endured
humiliation and numerous difficulties. I was unable to fulfill my long-held
dream of reaching Jerusalem because of a sudden illness. After recovering, she
took monastic vows taking the name - misaila. She led a righteous life, never
refused the sufferer, and helped with what she could.
In 2008, with the blessing of Archbishop
Herman of Kursk and Rila, it was decided to erect a chapel in the form of a
wrought-iron canopy over the grave of Misaila, where a memorial service is
held. Next to the cemetery, where the grave of the nun Misaila is located,
there is a temple in honor of the icon of the mother Of God "Joy To all
who mourn".
Every day, the number of spiritual and
physical healings through prayers to the nun Misaila increases.
Remember-she bequeathed that everyone in
prayer can
contact her and get help.
