Hello dear children, I’m happy to see you today. (слайд

How are you? I’m fine, too, thanks. Well, can you tell
me what day is it today? And what is the date today? What’s the weather like
today? (слайд
3, 4)
Now please look at the screen. Listen to the song and
try to sing it together. (слайд
5)
Pussy Cat
-
Pussy
cat, pussy cat. Where have you been?
-
I
have been to London to look at the Queen.
-
Pussy
cat, pussy cat, what did you there?
-
I
frightened a little mouse under her chair.
That was great, I loved your singing. Does any of you
know the Russian variant of this English poem? (слайд
6)
В гостях у королевы.
– Где ты была сегодня, киска?
– У королевы у английской.
– Что ты видала при дворе?
– Видала мышку на ковре.
Do you know who translated this poem into Russian? You
are absolutely right.
So what do you think is the topic of our today’s
lesson? Right you are! It is English poetry in the translations of a famous
Russian poet and translator Samuil Marshak. (слайд
7)
What is the aim of the lesson? I totally agree with
you. Today we are going to learn more about English poems and a brilliant poet
and translator S. Marshak. (слайд 8, 9, 10, 11, 12)
Now let me speak Russian a little.
So, let’s us start. Our first poem
today was Pussy Cat. Please, take your handouts and look it through. Do you
notice any differences? Good! You are very attentive! You see, there are some
differences.
And here is another poem translated by Marshak.
(слайд
13, 14)
Baa Baa Black Sheep
-
Baa,baa,black
sheep,
Have you any wool?
-
Yes,
sir, yes, sir,
Three bags full;
One for the master,
And one for the dame,
And one the little boy
Who lives down the lane.
Барашек
– Ты скажи, барашек наш,
Сколько шерсти ты нам дашь?
– Не стриги меня пока.
Дам я шерсти три мешка:
Один мешок – хозяину,
Другой мешок – хозяйке,
А третий – детям маленьким
На тёплые фуфайки.
What about this poem?
Are
there any differences between the Russian and English version? Well done!
Now please repeat after me. [æ] [ʌ] [ɔ] (слайд
15, 16)
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the king’s horses and
All the king’s men
Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
Thank you! Guess what? This poem has also been
translated by Marshak. Did you guess the poem?
(слайд 17)
Шалтай-Болтай
Сидел на стене.
Шалтай-Болтай
Свалился во сне.
Вся королевская конница,
Вся королевская рать
Не может Шалтая,
Не может Болтая,
Шалтая-Болтая,
Болтая-Шалтая
Шалтая-Болтая собрать!
Good job. Please, listen to the song. You can also
sing. (слайд 18)
Now there is a special task for you. You will hear a
translation of the poem and then you’ll get its English variant with all the
sentences mixed. Put them into the right order and perform the dialogue. Work in pairs.
Little Girl(слайд
19, 20)
-
Little
girl, little girl, where have you been?
-
I’ve
been to see grandmother over the green.
-
What
did she give you?
-
Milk
in a can.
-
What
did you say for it?
-
Thank
you, grandam.
Маленькая девочка
-
Маленькая девочка,cкажи,
где ты была?
-
Была у старой бабушки на том конце села.
-
Что ты пила у бабушки?
-
Пила с вареньем чай.
-
Что ты сказала бабушке?
-
«Спасибо»
и «Прощай».
Are you tired of sitting? Well, please stand up. Let’s
listen to the song and do some physical exercises. (слайд
21)
London Bridge Is Falling Down
That’s enough, please take your seats.
We have done a great job today and time to have little
rest. Do you like cartoons? I thought so! You see, there are lots of cartoons
after Marshak’s translations. I suggest you to watch one of them. But be attentive,
later you’ll have a grammar task based on this cartoon. (слайд
22)
Дом, который построил Джек.
Dear children, let’s revise some grammar. Look at the
screen and read about the Past Simple Tense. (слайд
23, 24)
Now your grammar task. Look at your handouts. There is
a part of an English poem The House That Jack Built where some of the verbs are
brackets. Please put the verbs in brackets into the second form.
Very well. May I have your papers, please?
Tell me, were you attentive during the lesson? Look at
the pictures and guess the poems! (слайды
25-34)
Marshak used to translate not only the poems but also
English riddles. Let’s try to guess some of them.
(слайд 35-44)
·
Little
Nancy Etticoat
With a white petticoat,
And a red nose;
She has no feet or hands,
The longer she stands
The shorter she grows.
СВЕЧА
Тонкая девчонка,
Белая юбчонка,
Красный нос.
Чем длиннее ночи,
Тем она короче
От горючих слез.
·
As
I was walking in a field of wheat,
I picked up something
good to eat;
Neither fish , flesh,
fowl, nor bone,
I kept it till it ran
alone.
ЗАГАДКА
В чистом поле на ходу
Я нашел себе еду –
Не мясо, не рыбу,
Не хлеб и не сало.
Но скоро еда от меня убежала.(Яйцо-
цыпленок)
·
Elizabeth,
Elspeth, Betsy and Bess,
They all went together to
seek a bird’s nest;
They found a bird’s nest
with five eggs in,
They all took one, and
left four in.
ЗАГАДКА
Элизабет, Лизи, Бэтси и Бэсс
Весною с корзинкой
Отправились в лес.
В гнезде на березе,
Где не было птиц,
Нашли они пять
Розоватых яиц.
им всем четверым
по яичку досталось,
и все же четыре
на месте осталось.
РАЗГАДКА
Хоть разные названы здесь имена
(Элизабет, Лизи, Бэтси и Бэсс)
Но так называлась девчонка одна.
Она и ходила с корзиною в лес.
You are great guessers! So do you think it is easy to
translate English poems and rhymes into Russian? Why? Did you like the
translations of S.Y. Marshak? What kind of a translator was he? (слайд
45)
You’ve done a great job today! You get good and
excellent marks for the lesson (…)
Your home task is to draw a picture illustrating one
of the poems you’ve heard today and to recite that poem. You may also to
compare it to its Russian translation and analyze it. Thank you for your
attention, the lesson is over. Have a nice day! (слайд
46, 47)
