Цели и задачи:

- формирование уважительного отношения к мнению другого человека, потребности в высказывании собственного мнения.

-развитие способности к обобщению, развитие логичности и доказательности.

-знакомство с мнениями людей о высоких технологиях, знакомство с понятием Internet.

-совершенствование речевых навыков.


Оборудование:

Тематические картинки, магнитофонная запись, таблички (The18th century,The21th century), таблицы для выполнения самостоятельного задания.

Ход урока:

Good morning, dear children, dear guests!

How are you today? Are your Ok?

Is anybody absent today?

Wonderful inventions have been made in science and technology

recently .They are changing the lifestyle of millions of people all over the world. Today we are going to speak about some bits of technology, about their benefits and disadvantages.

T: So we may say-all they are useful, they make our life easy they brighten our life.



4. Teacher: You see today we have some quests. They are from the 18 th century, they can travel in time and have come to our lesson. They don’t have any of the gadgets we are talking about, so you should tell them everything you know about these household equipments. May be some of them will buy something for their houses.


I want you to be our quests (18th century)

The rest of you are from the 21st century.

So I want you to explain everything they are eager to know.


Teacher: Look here…, what is the most interesting gadget for you? This one or that one? (Показываю картинки)

Pupil1 :( отвечает)

T: Do you know what is it?

P: No, I don’t.

T: So ask our experts about it. Are you ready to answer them, dear experts?

(“Представители “18 века расспрашивают. Представители 21 века отвечают на их вопросы.)

Questions: What is it?

How often is it used? What is it for? Why do you use them?

Is it expensive? (Cheap?)Does it save a lot of time? Is it easy to operate? Does it suit everyone? Can I use it every day? How often can I use it? Why do you like to have it at home? Where can you buy it? Do you have it at home? What is essential for you? Etc.


T: Dear friends! Will you tell us anything about yourselves? What are you? What are you busy with? Have you got any problems in your everyday life?

P1 :( He is a landlord. He lives far away from his friends. He needs а car to visit his friends and also a phone to keep in touch with them.)

P2 :( She is a princess. She is not very busy. She needs something to entertain herself.)

P3 :( He is a scientist. He needs some gadgets for his work in the laboratory.)

P4: (She is a housewife who has 4 children. She has a lot of work to do about the house.)

(Мини диалоги гостей из 18 века и «экспертов» из 21 века. «Эксперты» дают советы, как сделать жизнь легче, используя разнообразные приспособления и бытовую технику.)


T: Thank you! So you see there are some devises we can hardly do without.

T: Some people think that technology will save the world and make it better, some other think that technology will ruin the society, because we are too dependent on electric and electronic gadgets and machines. Let’s listen to the text and then speak about their disadvantages and benefits.

Now, open your books, please. Exercise 2, page232.

A computer is a brilliant source of information. It is said that people are getting too dependent on computers, but they’ll never replace seeing your friends…


A housewife: I have 4 children so I am too busy everyday. I’d like to

buy some household gadgets .first of all I’d buy а sewing machine, washing machine, a microwave oven. These gadgets will safe a lot of time and brighten my life…

T: I suppose if you buy these gadgets they will make your life better. And what things can help in the work of a detective, you’ll know at home. Please write down your homework: Reader, Unit7, Ex.5.
